Hey everyone! I didn’t see a thread for this year but I wanted to start one for this fall! I applied to Sierra College yesterday, has anyone else applied yet?
Same! Knowing they notified the day after admissions closed last year raises my anxiety to level 100! I checked my email *at least* 12 times on Friday. I need some serious meditation time to calm my nerves.
I also applied to ARC, SF City and just started the application process with Chamberlain. I may also submit for Delta College but since I have old science repeats & they don’t have a recency requirement, it’s a slim chance with them. Sierra is my first choice but I wish I had more to apply to.

Same. My main issue is I have a bachelors degree and can’t secure enough fund for another bachelors. I can either take my chances with an associates lottery or apply to the 2 masters programs, one which takes like 3 years and costs over $100,000 but I would qualify for more financial aid. I got into chamberlain last year but had to give up my seat because I was short $2000-$4000 every quarter ?. I’m just going to have to move to go somewhere out of state if I don’t make it into these programs. I’m going to apply to delta too but I’m not sure if it’s very promising. I just hate being a 4.0 GPA and working full time in health care, having certificates out the wazooo, and I volunteered over 400 hours in a hospital. It shouldn’t be this hard......

I also have my bachelors degree and have apply to a masters program. Just curious which ones you applied to? UCD is only 18 months long but very expensive

I’m going to apply to UCD and Samuel Merritt.. Samuel Merritt is like a 3 year program though for NP track
I just talked to a coworker and her friend is an LVN and applied last year got in but got pregnant so she is starting this fall. So that’s 1 less spot LOL. I wonder how many of those types of situations there is? Also I didn’t realize if you are an LVN you can apply to both the regular application or the LVN bridge

Yes, I didn't realize that we can apply to both until recently. I have a coworker that applied for YEARS of only lvn-RN and never got in. Some programs don't even offer advanced placement so the programs to apply to is a lot less. She took a chance and applied to traditional RN ADNs and got in finally. I'm glad that she told me this so that I can now apply to both.
With that being said, the odds of getting into an LVN-RN is still very slim because it all depends if there is space available. It could be zero spots, 2 spots available only, and so on. I've been working in mental health for 6 years and needless to say, I have lost a lot of my skills so getting into a regular program would be beneficial to me as well so that I can re-learn for NCLEX. I am also in my mid-30s so I have no time to waste.
