Hey everyone! I didn’t see a thread for this year but I wanted to start one for this fall! I applied to Sierra College yesterday, has anyone else applied yet?

Turning in my Sierra College Nursing app tomorrow. I'll ask what number I am and report back tomorrow ? I applied to ARC and Sac City as well. Where else did everyone apply besides Sierra?

I applied pretty much all over within a two hour radius LOL. This is my first round applying to lottery based programs so I'm going all in. I applied to sierra, arc, scc, butte, modesto, los medanos, chabot, merritt college, santa rosa, sac state, chico state, csu east bay, and stanislaus. I also applied to College of the Redwoods which is 5 hours away LOL. I plan on applying to Delta and Merced when they open up. I was unable to apply to Yuba because I haven't taken pathophysiology yet.

Just turned in my app at Sierra! I'm number 168 and my friends is 169. Only one more day to turn in apps! Good luck to everyone!

I have a question for anyone that has work experience- when you turned in your app what did you include? I know it said 200 hours or more working or volunteering within the last 2 years. But on the required documentation side it said license or certification copy required for listed work experience. Only for volunteer did it say written proof of volunteer hours signed by institution.

just curious if I put the correct stuff. I made a copy of my license and my BLS card on the same paper and stapled my most recent pay stub as that’s all I had access too. (For proof of hours) although it didn’t say to submit proof of hours only license. Hope that was enough or even not too much!

I did the same. I submitted the print out of my license along with a print out of my employment verification from my HR department that shows that I've been there (and still present) for two years.

Hey! I’m sure that should be sufficient. I had my boss write a letter on a letterhead and say that I have worked more than 200 hours and my job description. My job wasn’t on the list but they said it wasn’t an exhaustive list so that’s why I included my job description. The lady went over my app at Sierra and said it was good so I’m assuming you are in the clear!

OK awesome! I texted a co-worker and she said she just included the copy of her license ?She said she is now freaking out! I told her I think she should be fine. But I think putting the hours helped also.

Hey y’all!

I applied this week as well. This is my first round of applying. I’m so excited but trying not to put too much into getting in on a lottery. ?

I do remember hearing at an info session that they typically receive about 250 applications and about 190 of them actually qualify for the lottery. It looks like they’ll admit any leftover alternates from the year prior as part of the 40 spots available. I see it as an 18-20% chance. ??
I applied to ARC and SF City as well and will apply to Delta when it opens. Sadly, I haven’t finished Cultural Anthropology to apply for Sac City.
Best of luck to us all! ?

I applied too, this is my second time and I’m annoyed at this lottery system bs.

I had the strangest dream about getting accepted. Gonna be a rough month ?? I mean we are almost 5 days into March already LOL!

I know! We should hear by 3/27 right? Only 23 days of an agonizing wait to go. ?

I thought I would be so much more patient than I am but I’ve checked my email multiple times a day. I mean, what takes so long anyway??? ?

I said to my husband I would gladly go help them sift through the applications ??just to make it go faster! The Sierra website said April 15 I thought? I would love March 27!

So I read the website again and it says we will be notified 4 weeks after the close of the application period (April 15). Maybe that’s old? And we will find out by the end of the month?
