Hi y'all! Just wondering if anyone has applied to Sierra College for Fall 2019. It's my first time applying and I'm excited/anxious.

Hi Todd, congratulations wish you the best in your future endeavors ! I’m really curious if the students in the nursing program work? Or how heavy the workload is to manage school and work?

Current Sierra student about to graduate... I don't know if anyone started a class FB group yet, but we have a Current Sierra College Nursing Page for all 1st and 2nd-year students. Working is HIGHLY discouraged, but totally doable... depending on how well you are dedicated and know how to time manage.

We we have several students who work and they do perfectly fine. It’s just a lot of dedication. I personally work one 8 hour shift a week on a Saturday, but I didn’t start that until 3rd semester when I finally knew how the program worked and I was comfortable with it. So much went on first and second, it was just difficult to manage.

The workload the first year is definitely insane. Very heavy in terms on content.

Hello! Do you happen to know the likelihood of alternates getting in the cohort?

Generally very high. Just remember that if you are an alternate and you don’t get in, you’re guaranteed a spot for the next class. The Dean mentioned today that they haven’t had any declinations, but keep you’re hopes up. For my cohort, they went through the entire 10 alternates and had to redraw names. I’m not sure about the class behind us. Remember that some students get into other schools too and sometimes decline the others. Best of luck to you.

I know things can potentially shift for a couple months but UGH thats difficult to read haha. I am quite hopeful but it's all a little less magical overall.

If they get through the whole waitlist, will they automatically choose 10 more alternates or do they go one by one until all the spots are filled up? Meaning if I didn’t get accepted or waitlisted, do I still have a chance of being waitlisted?

@hockeystic, It is my understanding if more than 10 alternates are needed they are selected one by one. So, no, there isn't a possibility to be waitlisted at this point. That doesn't mean you won't be selected though. It's not over until it's over.

@5BabesCafe, Are you in? I know 2 alternates were called up as of Tuesday but later that day the Sac state emails went out! I'm anxious with hope.

@jennlem nooo I haven’t heard anything yet!!! How did you find out that 2 alternates were called?
