Sierra College Fall 2019

Hi y'all! Just wondering if anyone has applied to Sierra College for Fall 2019. It's my first time applying and I'm excited/anxious.

Sierra uses a multi criteria form, so if you have 70 points or above you qualify for their program. This was my first time applying. I had a 4.0 in sciences and the other pre-reqs, my TEAS was 80, and I speak a second language. Idk if that did anything though since it’s a lottery system.

Um I submitted my app yesterday at 10AM so I’m sure I was down the list, I don’t think your number has anything to do with getting in since it’s a lottery system

So I'm assuming that if we didn't get an email today, then we weren't selected, right? Since the emails for alternates already went out? :(

I’m sad. I retook nutrition class with a very tough teacher in order to apply at Sierra. My efforts were totally wasted :(

Lottery system sucks.

I got in to Sierra yesterday too! This was my 2nd time applying to Sierra. Looking forward to meeting everyone that got in and for those still waiting don’t give up, it’s awful to go through this, but it will happen eventually!

All acceptance emails were sent out yesterday (the 16th), so congratulations to all those that have been accepted and good luck!!!

Hello All!

I am new to this thread and have never seen this website before! Excited to be here! I was selected at the #5 alternate position for the Sierra college RN program this year! Does anybody know the likelihood of alternates being selected? Or are there any alternates on here that have already been contacted about being enrolled for this cohort?

Hi there! I went in this morning to turn in my paperwork and found out I am number 8/10. ARG! To answer your question, last year they went through all ten and even had to lottery more alternates. This is, of course, not an indication of when will happen but to show anything is possible. Vicki told me we will not be notified when there is movement on the list but we WILL be notified when we are number 1 on the list and move into the cohort.

I have faith that the both of us will get in this year! And then we can laugh about this on our first day of the program! Thank you for your speedy reply!
