Check this out:
I'm actually broadly sympathetic to the protesters. When you have 22 million Americans unemployed, massive lines at food banks, and even more projected layoffs, even a Second Great Depression, people are going to have had it. Even nurses and other hospital workers cannot get paid if the economy tanks and there's no money cycling through the U.S. system.
I think the quarantines have gone on way too long. We should have gone the Sweden herd immunity model in the first place. If people are still that scared of this Coronavirus they ought to quarantine themselves. The rest of the country shouldn't have to keep catering to the susceptible minority much longer. I'm grateful that I live in Texas and my governor seems committed to reopening our state in early May, whether hell or high water.

The economic might of the U.S. is the reason we can afford all the vents and PPE that we need, while the Third World unfortunately cannot. Without the economy there is no effort against any pandemic or any health issue at all.
So the answer is no, you don't understand...you think that the economy will recover if people just go back to work and that a couple hundred thousand laborers dying in the first wave of the pandemic will pose no economic problem in and of itself?
And you studied public health? Really?

Texas is also one of the worst when it comes to Testing. I live in Texas, you don't speak for everyone in Texas. Dr. Fauci is one of few that is speaking facts about Coronavirus. You surely can't rely on Trump to get any truth about Coronavirus. Speak for yourself.

No, we did not have the same and here we are, however unfortunate. But "reopening" businesses people don't want to go to that by nature are contact oriented and will spread the disease further is not going to save you from the doomsday scenarios you have been flapping your arms about in this thread 24x7.
I haven't flapped my arms about reopening business, I tend to discuss the realities and scientific facts surrounding this pandemic.
I'm guessing you quoted the wrong person.

People are going back to work regardless. You didn't seriously think we would all quarantine for years on end, right? And like I said, only the vulnerable people would continue to quarantine and receive stimulus monies. The rest would go back to work.

As usual, you're making stuff up. The emergency vents, along with the PPE the states have been forced to compete against each other *and the federal government to obtain (mostly in vain) has all been spent on borrowed money, all as they had to shell out approximately 20-200x the former price. (don't worry, I won't harp on the fact the Trump Admin *gave* the national stockpile of PPE to China in *February, for the love of Jesus, and cancelled the contract to maintain the national stockpile of ventilators in 2018)
you might add this to your armflapping and hysteria as the impending bankrutpcies and insolvencies cities, states and providers are going to have a far greater economic impact than whether or not tatoo parlors and gyms are opened a few weeks early.

Years on end? Hyperbole is a terrible defense of a scientifically unsound opinion. You haven't even lasted 6 weeks before experiencing economic panic. You are encouraging others to panic. How is it that you don't understand that everyone is vulnerable to infection with this virus? Do you know what the American CFR is for this very contagious virus?
Why don't you have faith that president Trump will see to the economic needs of the ailing population during this pandemic. We The People are the priority, right?
So you tell me when this is going to be over. The buck stops when? May 1st? May 15th? June 1st? If you are going to be straight with us, you tell us when enough is enough.
If you can't you at least owe us the intellectual honesty of admitting you would have no qualms in forcing us to quarantine for years on end "because the virus decides when it's over", per Fauci.

Love the hyperbole! Years on end. Please point out the message number where anyone at all proposed that. And if you want to work, guess what, there's an entire country full of SNFs begging for medical professionals about now. I mean, you DO have an RN license, right?? ?

Agree you have not. I think I responded to the quote in your response instead of the original hysteric. I apologize.

LOL
Enough is enough when the general health of the people can be protected with decreasing numbers of cases, ability to test and track the infected and their contacts, ability to effectively treat severe cases, and/or widespread access to a functional and effective vaccine. I have no qualms following sound scientific recommendations if that might save lives of my fellow countrymen.
You could speak to your health professional about your anxiety, that might be safer for everyone.
