I have a long story but I will cut it short. I have been a web designer/programmer since I was 14. I am 30 years old now. I have been saving my money for a very long time.
Now over 15 years later I am driving a cheap car. I have money saved up to buy a new bmw and it wont really hurt me economically at all. Would it look bad as a newly graduate LPN?

I'm confused with this post. Why would it look bad? And who cares? It's your money, do what you want to do.

Look bad to whom? The people who see you driving around town don't know your profession.

If you've calculated your likely employment as a new graduate LPN and have enough to tide you over if that doesn't work out right away then buy the car you want! Best wishes!
Thanks. The reason I ask is it might make young people believe that being a new grad lvn will let you make enough to easily buy a new loaded bmw. Now that I think about it like the poster above said. Apart from my friends nobody will really know my profession. If I have scrubs on I could be a RN, NP or so many options...

Unless your plate reads "NewLVN" then I think you're okay.

No, it would not look bad at all. In fact, you could use the new car to help other new grads. I think you should buy the car, and with the idea of helping others study harder, drive by new grads and tell them the car was given to you by the nursing school for being the best student they have ever had. So you see, this way, everyone wins & you have no conflict of interest with buying the new car.
I highly doubt that anyone would think that... I only knew the kind of car a handful of my co-workers drove when I worked in the hospital. And if seeing you driving a new car makes someone who can't afford it try to buy a new BMW, that person has impulse control/budgeting problems that have nothing to do with you.
I've never considered what strangers may think when making decisions about my life.
