I've always liked rockport walking shoes when I'm on my feet a lot, so I managed to find a pair that were off-white, and with a little white shoe spray, they're now whiter than my uniform. Very comfy and 80 bucks well spent. We're not allowed to wear sneakers (some guys have and got away with it if they're all white), and the mens nursing shoes I've seen were not very comfy.
Here's what I got: they're not white but spray em and they are perfect
Right before my clinicals started last month, Nike Shox finally came out in all-white -- with a leather tongue!!!!
All the other models have mesh over the top of the foot...regulations don't say anything about that, but if people are going to be bleeding, puking, peeing on me, I want the top of my shoe to be as impermeable as possible.
Pretty comfy...turns out mine pinch a bit on the sides, but are very well cushioned. Combined with support hose (:imbar ), my legs and feet feel FABULOUS at the end of the day (wonder how long that will last......).
Good luck with the search.
I'm an RN that works 4-5 12 hour shifts a week, and I just bought a pair of Nike Shox. They cost just about as much as the merrells I wore in school, and they are by far the most comfortable shoe I've worn. They are built for runners, so they fit like a glove, and are breatheable. I noticed that all the other RN's on my floor wore them, and loved 'em, so I gave them a try....LOVE 'EM!
If you have to do the all-white, non-athletic shoe for school, check out the Merrell shoe website for their white "moc" It's relatively comfortable, and if fine for school.
I black Dansko clogs but I've been looking all over for a particular pair that I saw someone wearing at my hospital. I saw them on a nurse passing by and thought that they looked neat and comfy. They're open in the back w/ a raised heel (looks like a spring as a heel). They're supposed to provide really good back support. I can't find them anywhere? Does anyone know what I'm talking about??

I wanted to get z- coils but there to expensive. We were limited to picking schoes at a particurlar shoe store. I couldn't find anything comfy I tried on some new balance, k-swiss, nikes and adidas and they were all horrible. I ended up breaking down and asking a guy that worked there for his advice. I didn't think he'd be very helpful, but he ended steering me to two shoes, asics running type and a reebok walking type. I ended up getting the reeboks they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. Pretty reasonble on price as well. I wore them all day yesterday and no sore legs/ feet at all.
