  2. where are you quoting this from?
  3. took a hemodyn class and was told to draw a mix venous sample over 1 minute. Why?? People around my unit are saying youll pull arterial blood (ie oxygenated blood) and ruin the sample (doesnt make sense, the cath is in the PA with venous blood). Can someone clarify please..
  4. i just started in a CTICU and ive gotten questions about half-lifes of drugs (eg. epi, dop, dob, mil, etc.) by some of my preceptors. why is it that some make it a big deal to know? isnt more important to know when a drugs peak affects will occur and their duration of action? what am i missing here??
  5. sorry if this has been posted but it was just shown to be by my coworker.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuZl9tRqjoQ
  6. why would you hate working there? I just started working at UCLA (as a crit care RN) and it seems they are pro education/CRNA.
  7. Nursing GPA: 3.9 Cum GPA: 3.8 Science GPA: 3.8 BUT.. I just bombed the GRE with a 920 (450v/470q) and a writing score of 3.5!!! im not stupid, i just didnt prepare well enough for this test. i know i can retake the GRE, but the thought of sitting through that again just doesnt sit well with me. anyway, do you think some programs will still let me in? i will have 2yrs of CTICU experience (both adult and peds hearts) from a prestigious medical institution. thanks.. :trout:
  8. what? that doesnt help me at all..
  9. im a new grad and planning to work in CA this summer. can i sit for boards in my home state but apply for my licensure in CA? i am not talking about endorsement. i only want to be licensed in CA. thanks!
  10. are you saying that CRNAs should not intubate on the floors and not start lines??
  11. your courses from a CRNA program wont transfer and as far as i know, if you were an AA, your courses from that degree wouldnt transfer either into a medical program - in other words what ever you do, expect to take all the courses with every other med student.. if you want to be an anesthetist, go to NA school. if you want to be an MDA, than go to straight to med school and dont waste any more time than needed. i think you need to really think about what your goals are and where you ultimately want to be.. just my .02
  12. BSN GPA - 3.9 ("brand-name" school ) Overall GPA - 3.8 havent taken my GRE yet 1yr experience CVICU "brand-name" teaching hospital do you think i could get in with just a yr?
