Shoes for nursing school, any recommendations???

Published

Would any of you current nursing students mind sharing your recommendations for comfortable shoes? I start my program in the fall...I did some research, but wanted to get some more feedback from those who are in the midst of their nursing school careers (: Thanks!

Brooks addictions had great reviews. I'm in love with their running shoes.

I love my Merrells. My feet are never sore after a long day at clinicals.

I have high arches.. And I have s pair of danskos in black. I love love love them!! I'm debating on buying white ones for nursing school (that's if I get in, of course). They are worth the money.

Dansko's are good shoes...so are Allegria

My program won't let us wear clogs, so Dansko's are not an option.

Does anyone have any ideas if there are nursing shoes for someone who is flat footed (no arch)? I start my program in August and I know I'm going to have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable for me :(

Kswiss, and new balance are my favorites.

Try the Nike free runs. Or some other barefoot type shoe. Just simply google it. You can customize the free runs to be completely white on nikeid but they cost about $120. That's my plan if I don't get danskos. I have to have good shoes.

I am a full figured nursing student, and I swear by Shape-ups! After hours on my feet for clinicals, I have zero pain!

They have a great deal of cushion but don't feel heavy or weigh you down.

This is such a personal question that is really based on trial and error. Just like buying shoes in your personal life, it just depends on your feet. Do you have high arches? Flat feet? Back problems? Personally, I have flat feet and walk quite a bit during my shift so Danskos and Klogs don't work well for me. I'm still searching for my perfect shoe  Just keep safety in mind first and always make sure your shoes have good treads!

What about alegria ( sp)? Anyone wear this brand?
