Would any of you current nursing students mind sharing your recommendations for comfortable shoes? I start my program in the fall...I did some research, but wanted to get some more feedback from those who are in the midst of their nursing school careers (: Thanks!
I have New Balance 928s. They have a slightly wider toebox and the guys at the store said some nurses said they looked ugly for that reason. I told the guy that if it'll save my feet knees and back I don't really care what they look like and was pleasantly surprised when he had me try them on. They are super-comfortable even after spending the whole day on my feet and in all honestly they don't look at all different from normal sneakers from a distance and you can barely tell they have a slight difference up close so I don't know what they were complaining about. They retail at about 130, but are sooo worth the money.

If you end up with Danskos, make sure you buy them in a store and try a few pairs of the same size on; as they are handmade there is some
variance in size!
