SHAVING & WAXING

I am now working in the OBGYN field as an OBGYN Assistant. Maybe I have lived a sheltered life but I am shocked at the number of women who wax and shave off all their pubic hair. This trend has gone mad. It is just not the young under 25 crowd it is the 30 and over females. It is sort of disturbing. Has anyone else noticed this trend ????

Sorry, but the idea of shaving pubic hair COMPLETELY off is essentially saying "I'm a child..." Pretty sick when you think about it...

I have shaved for 10 years now, and its not as SICK as you think. I think having one more place to have needless hair and stench is GROSS........Do you shave your legs...armpits...enough said. Please don't try and offend people ...all you have to say is no I don't agree........... :angryfire

If there's a 'stench' down there, perhaps that needs investigated by a gynecologist, first. Seriously, hair may trap an odor, but an actual stench is a sign of a problem.

i didn't say I had stench.....you took it the wrong way. I shave for other reasons...husbands preference.....just meaning that posters with opinions don't need to be really rude about it !

I'm not surprised you're seeing more & more women hair-free; I'm just surprised at how many people, male & female, reportedly get the whole Brazilian. OWWWWW...

I once shaved my nether regions bald...it looked creepy to both myself and dh. We decided we preferred the neatly trimmed "landing strip" look. It keeps me from having to worry about cobwebs creeping out when I wear a swimsuit.

I never said that you did. What i said is that if there is a stench down there, that can be the sign of a problem.

(I can't believe how many people are volunteering their own self-grooming habits, though. Reason why i say that is that i remember a poster actually asking whether people shaved or didn't and you had to wonder why they wanted to know this, whether it was a legitimate question, or whether they were just a troll that was wanting to see a bunch of women talk about their maintenance habits for their own entertainment?)

Why not shave it? Body hair in certain places can be very unattractive, to both men and women. I'm yet to hear a woman say she finds back hair attractive on men, and I don't know too many guys who're attracted to hairy pits and legs on a women. Pubic hair can look pretty nasty if its real thick, curly, and full. I shave the hair off my face everyday because I prefer the way I look without it. I don't see any difference between that and a person who shaves his/her pubic hair. Of course, all that is on the personal side. When it comes to the patients, I've seen a lot of shaving among mature females, too.

OMG, you should post a spew alert warning, there is coffee all over my computer desk now from reading that post. Have you ever heard of David Sedaris? You give him a run for his money.

I know many, many women who prefer to shave, myself included. I agree it just seems cleaner without all that hair. And the other benefits are nice as well. :p

Yeah, but the maintenance is a b!#%h!! I *hate* the shave every day routine. As soon as I'm out of nursing school & have a decently-paying position, it's off to the laser hair removal center for me.
