I am now working in the OBGYN field as an OBGYN Assistant. Maybe I have lived a sheltered life but I am shocked at the number of women who wax and shave off all their pubic hair. This trend has gone mad. It is just not the young under 25 crowd it is the 30 and over females. It is sort of disturbing. Has anyone else noticed this trend ????
You know, I just hope and pray that I won't become a hospital patient anytime soon. I would hate the idea that those entrusted with my care are gossiping about the condition of my "nether end" at the nurses' station. (And no, I won't state here whether I shave or don't shave. No one's business.:uhoh21: )
Yea I was kind of thinking the same thing.....
I am no prude and I do have a sense of humor, but it seems kinda out of hand here. I was a hospital patient recently, sure do hope they had other things on their minds than my genitals when they took care of me-----every one is unique and different and I can say after years in OB I have never seen two people exactly the same "down there"....but I guess I have seen so much, I have moved way past joking about it. I, too, will decline to divulge what I do for myself, hygiene-wise, except to say I do shower daily. :)

When I was 18 and getting my second pap, the idiot MD made a lewd comment about mine afterwards in the hall outside the door...and I didn't get a pap for several years after that, and probably wouldn't have even then, except my mom about nagged me to death. So I hope none of you will make comments about hair, lack of hair, color, amount, tattoos, piercings, or WHATEVER when you see patients, EVEN IF YOU THINK THEY WON'T HEAR YOU. Luckily it made no difference to my health, but it might in another case. We are all so vulnerable when we are in that position.
