Hello! It's that exciting time again!
:)
I'm starting this thread to support, advise, and inform each other about this residency program. If you don't mind, share a little bit about yourselves.
Graduation date: Degree type: healthcare experience: Any special skills or certificates:
Thanks!
I graduated back in December 2012. I have a couple of months of experience as a RN and a year experience as a CNA. I graduated with a ASN and am currently working on my BSN. This will be my 4rth time applying to Sharps NNRP!!! I have the basic certifications (BLS and ACLS) I applied to Grossmont's PCU and telemetry/MS.
hi! i'm new to this group but I got a call on friday for a phone interview tomorrow for the Sharp Memorial residency program! Super excited as it's my first positive feedback I've received from all my endless applications! has anyone ever had a phone interview at sharp before? I'm wondering what kind of questions they will ask!
Congrats Culli005! I too am focused on NICU, however I didn't apply to Sharp Mary Birch because they didn't have NICU specific positions open this go around. Here are the new grad positions SMB had listed:
[*]Perinatal Special Care Unit (November/December 2013)
Is the NICU part of the perinatal special care unit? Also, have you completed the maternal newborn nursing course through the regional perinatal system that was listed under requirements? Sorry for all the questions....just trying to figure out what SMB is looking for in their new grad NICU candidates. I applied for the Sharp Grossmont NICU new grad position and am hoping to be invited this week for a panel interview (fingers crossed). Best of luck to you!!
The NICU at MB posted a new grad position last week that was separate from Sharp's original application process. Unfortunately it looks like they already closed that application. Perinatal Special Care is a unit that cares only for high risk antepartum and occasionally postpartum patients. All units except NICU at MB like you to have the maternal newborn care course.
Hi HKR333! Thank you! Sharp MMB actually had a New Grad posting for NICU a little over a week ago. I applied to that. I saw in the summer they had posted separate from the other New Grad positions so I watched for it. It did not say anything about requiring the Maternal Newborn Course. Good luck! I have been applying like crazy since June. Hopefully something will come around!! I would love to work at Sharp. I volunteered there prior to starting my nursing program.

I got a call from Grossmont as well on Friday for the Acute Track Residency I guess is the same as PCU right? LOL
I have an interview on Nov 19th. I actually went to school in SF however I put my parents SD address in the application, so I dunno if that helped. In addition I volunteered for 2 years at Sharp before nursing school. This is my second time applying, thus the last time I applied I used my SF address and nothing! lol
Congratz to whoever else got interviews and good luck! Im super bad on interviews so we will see. The right job will land eventually! So do not lose hope peeps! Just a matter of time
