SFSU

Hey everyone. With so many programs sending acceptance letters I am checking to see if anyone has heard from SFSU?

ey guys, i will be starting the BSN program on spring 2011. i was wondering if you guys have any info on University Park apartments located on campus? It seems to be the most practical choice since its cheap and close to the school.

sorry I have no idea I did not even look into apartments yet but I am super excited have you started looking into the program, classes, and moving there yet? I live like 6 hours away so the move is quite far

Puppyadobo~ congrats on getting into the program! We'll be classmates . . yay! I have never heard of those apartments. I did look at Park Merced Apartments that are right across the street on Hollaway. I wasn't impressed with them at all. Way too much money and I felt like I was in a jail. My boyfriend and I are looking in Sunset area. Most likely near GG park and UCSF. I'll just take public transportation to school.

I live in San Diego, so I guess we are on the same boat. I applied for the University park apartments in SFSU, 1200-1400 for a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment and with approval I can bring my boston terrier with me. I will go in June to secure a place so i can move in around July. There is a waitlist so nothing is guaranteed yet.

I guess i will attend orientation also and sign up for the GE3 reqs when I check the college out in June.

and yeah its good to know that some of my future classmates is checkin this forum. I will see you guys soon! Good luck apartment hunting... its hard looking for a place there is just too many variables to consider.

thanks i might even consider doing a single dorm because its so expensive outside but I am not even familiar with the area and have no idea how it is down there. Is there an orientation in june I thought it was in july?

That's great! It sounds like a good price based off of what I've seen for the area. I'll be moving from San Jose. That will be easy for you to get to know the area. I love Boston Terriers . . so cute!! I'm attending the orientation on July 10th and will sign up for seg 3 classes then. The list is overwhelming and it looks like there are so many fun classes. I'm looking forward to a "fun" semster. I'm finishing up organic/bio chem right now. It turns out I don't even need it for SFSU, but oh well, it's been a fun class.

SFSU are you referring to 1200-1400 a room being a good price? Is that usually how it is there? What do you think about the single dorms? I might attend the july 10 ones as well so I might see you there :] Did you see any classes you were specifically interested in yet?

elacer: I assumed that we can attend any orientation available because i went to mySFSU and it let me choose which orientation I wanted to attend... is there a specific date? right now I am listed as Kiniseology Major because I dont start nursing till Spring. btw...You could also look at rooms for rent in craigslist if your trying to save some money. I prefer being close to school so I can make all my classes plus I get to experience a little college life.

SFSUmegs: yeah I looked at the GE3 reqs and there are some fun classes available. I wanted to attend orientation early so I can get the classes that I want. I will try to get as many health care related classes so that I can be well rounded. I am definitely taking my buddy with me. He is so chill and friendly.

Elacer08~ I was thinking 1200-1400 is good for a private one bedroom apartment. I'm sorry but I don't know anything about dorms. I'm sure you can call school housing and they can help you.

Puppyadobo~ I also wanted an earlier orientation but 7/10 was the first one available for me to be able to bring someone with me. I haven't narrowed down my seg3 classes. I did print the very long list and plan to look at it once finals are done. I think I'll pick a few choices so I'm not let down. I know it's tough to get these classes because of all the budget cuts. I don't want to get my heart set on any in particular. It'll be fun for you to live right near campus!!

puppyabodo: thanks for letting me know I think I want to stay close to school too. It would be nice to stay in the same apartments its nice to at least know somebody! When I looked at the orientation dates it listed only july dates that I saw but when I asked the nursing dept they said they are having their own orientation that will be held in july so I am not sure if you want to wait and do that and the campus tour the same day. Have you seen any specific GE3 classes yet it states we only need 9 units right?

I just wanted to clarify, there is no winter session. There are only 3 semesters per school year, fall, spring, and summer.

Here is a link to the academic calendar.

Also, for those of you moving to the area, and want to save money on rent, you may want to check out Millbrae, and San Mateo, Burlingame, or Belmont. We bought a house last year in downtown San Mateo and love the area here. We are about 20 minutes from SF, and all of these areas are on the Caltrain line if you want to take public transit, Caltrain meets up with Bart at Millbrae, since you have to take Bart to get to campus, then there is an SFSU shuttle from Bart to the campus.

Just a heads up since you probably will be able to find cheaper apartments in these areas.
