Hey everyone. With so many programs sending acceptance letters I am checking to see if anyone has heard from SFSU?

Does SFSU send out all their admission decisions via email????? i got my acceptance to the nursing program letter through email. I finally found out i was admitted to the university because i checked my SF gate account. And i did my intent to register and orientation registration through the online website. i have gotten nothing in the mail from them. Just seems kind of weird that everything is done online or through email.

Hi, Kreyes87! Congrats on getting accepted for Spring '12. I did too so I'm sure I'll be seeing you around. I think that the nursing program relies only on e-mail which I liked because we find out much more quickly. But I did receive a packet in the mail from the college with general with instructions. It ended up being nothing more than what can be found at our SFGateway page though.

As for your question about classes being hard to get... they are talking only about GE classes like English, etc. If you have finished your CSU transfer requirements then you should be fine. At the orientation I went to last year they said that if we have anything outstanding that can be taken at community college first that they recommended it for that reason though. Check with your counselor and see if you have finished everything (history, government, anthropology for the state boards, etc). Also the website CSUMentor.com is great to see how you are doing. I also noticed that you can see what SFSU thinks you have completed or might still be missing by going to the SFGateway site under the tabs "Current students", "registration/grades". Then on the far left under advising click on "DARS". They fill in all of the info from your transcripts and give you a summary of graduation requirements. If you are missing any classes there perhaps you could do them this summer or fall before we start.

I'm planning to take two or three of my Segment III GE classes this fall (which are the only ones left if you finish your transfer stuff before hand.) I hope some of this helps. I look forward to seeing you in the Spring.

By the way, I started a new thread for our class that starts in the Spring '12. It's at...

Take care :)

I am going to be starting the SFSU nursing program in January 2012. I am curious if any of you who are currently in the program have any opinions about buying the textbooks new (and obtaining online access as well as the ability to download to ipad/pda) vs. buying the books used. Has anyone purchased the full package and been glad or purchased it and felt it wasn't that useful? I would welcome your opinion.

Thanks!

I boug ht the textbooks new with the epackage the first and second semester and downloaded them to my ipad. I loved it. It made it easier to do care plans and look up stuff in the book while studying or during class. I didnt buy them foe the third semester since I got a screaming deal from my friend in the Canada program and I wish I had bought them. So, for me it worked.

Hi all, I know this question is kind of off topic, but I need help for nursing apllication for fall 12. I m from community college, for science course, we don't have lab grades, so how do I fill in grade for lecture and lab? Or I just input my grate on lecture box only . Thank you you guys in advance.
