I went to their website today and found that the nursing application has now been posted. Due date is January 15, 2010. Now it's time to bug my professors for another round of forms and letters. I have one letter, but need the form to get filled out. It's so embarrassing to go back to the same people. I feel like I owe them the world. What's the most number of requests anyone has asked one person?
Anyway back to the application itself. On it you have to choose a Graduate Program Emphasis. If my goal is to become a Diabetes Educator, should I choose Adult Acute CNS or Maternal/Child CNS, or should I choose Public Health? Does anyone know if we can change specialties mid-stream?
I applied to SFSU 2010 as well. I hear that the nursing department will send out emails two weeks from the due date to confirm that our nursing apps have been received.

The committee has already gone through most of the applications already?!?!? That is pretty quick. Maybe, just maybe, we can know our status earlier than april?!?! Oh, I really do hope this is the case. :)
I keep feeling like there is something I should be doing until April, only 6 more weeks. Does anyone know the average undergrad GPA of the admitted class? I mean I have a 4.0 in the prereqs and I'm sure a lot of people have close to that..but my undergrad was only 3.4 coming from a harder major at a UC school. I hope its not only high GPA's that are considered, even though I know its competitive and its just the reality...but everyone can't have a 3.8 right.
Although most people do have high GPAs an it really boosts your application; a professor at SFSU told me that some people who have lower GPAs do get accepted if they have a great essay and extra curriculars. GPA is i think the most important but just by itself won't get you in.
Hello everyone! I spoke to the department this past friday and was told that the committee will make final decisons by the end of March, and will forward their decisions to the office of graduate admission. We should know the status of our application by the early-mid April.
thisisit: thanks for checking. I am not a generic msn applicant but I am sure the regular msn people will find out around the same time. i am anxiously awaiting my letter to finally decided once and for all between sfsu and another school. good luck to us all:clown:

I'm also waiting to hear from SFSU about the GMSN for Fall 2010. I just got an email detailing my financial aid award from SFSU. Does this mean a decision has been made? Just wondering...and nervous ;-) !
I got the same email. I don't think it means anything except the school received our FAFSA info and processed it in order to give us the financial aid award. I think any school should do this if you put them on your FAFSA. I am checking my application status daily and hope they send letters out soon.
