SFSU ELMSN Fall 2023

Published

Hi everyone,

I just submitted my application to SFSU's ELMSN program for fall 2023. I didn't see a thread for this, so creating one here if you'd like to share your experiences, updates, and decisions! Based on the previous thread for fall 2022 it doesn't seem like we will hear from admissions until April. Best of luck to everyone!

On the last page a person who got admitted said that out of the 20 admitted only 12 had signed up. I don't know if that person you spoke with meant that everyone from one concentration accepted or if she meant all concentrations.  It would be so nice to know our chances, so we could plan our lives, but maybe we just end up waiting until August 18!

Hmm yeah I'm not sure the lady I spoke with had said all the spots were filled it seemed like she was talking about the cohort. But yeah I feel it waiting and not knowing does suck.

With the initial acceptance we were sent a Google spread sheet to sign up for orientation. Only 12 people signed up. That doesn't mean the other people didn't accept, I just means they didn't fill out the document. Good Luck.

an option for those who got rejected/waitlisted.

this is my personal opinion based on experience. At this point, most programs already have their people. Students had to commit and pay deposit to save their spot. They people waitlisted are in case of a crazy life emergency and someone dropping last minute. I would say prepare to hear a no last minute (last year, it was a day after orientation). It was heartbreaking to see the picture of the cohort start and me still having hopes. Just FYI. But don't get discouraged! There's always next year. You got this!

Thanks to @Pink77 for telling me about your conversation with the person that told you all the spots were filled in this cohort, and @Bubbbleeel10  for your encouragement and opinion based on your previous experience, and @ALcamp135 for the 411 on that Google form.

I don't think it's going to happen and it's OK. I'm transitioning mentally. I know alot of people are in the same boat as I am.

Hi all, I just received an email that I got off the waitlist! (I've been "recommended" for the program) I'd love to connect with those who were accepted earlier and get an idea of what to expect for the orientation process. I don't have a FB account otherwise I would join the group already created.

There are two approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.

One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.

Two: Premium members may create a "club" by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on "Create A New Club" in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.

References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.

Thank you.

Nvm I ended up making a FB account and sent a request to the group, it's under the name Joey. Wanted to give a heads up bc my profile is blank.

Thanks for replying I appreciate it! I was just wondering if anyone who applied to Women's Health had gotten off the list as I am waitlisted under that specialty & very close up on the list.

I also applied under gerontology. Good luck, I hope they offer you a space.
