SFSU ELMSN Fall 2023

Published

Hi everyone,

I just submitted my application to SFSU's ELMSN program for fall 2023. I didn't see a thread for this, so creating one here if you'd like to share your experiences, updates, and decisions! Based on the previous thread for fall 2022 it doesn't seem like we will hear from admissions until April. Best of luck to everyone!

Hello,

Good luck everyone! It is my first time applying for nursing as well.

I saw that last cohort had to wait until April to get their acceptances/wait-list/rejection email. Hopefully we can get them earlier.

This is my first time applying. I submitted my application in November. Good luck to everyone.

Hi guys! Submitted my app a while back, too!

Does anyone feel comfy sharing their prerequisite GPAs and what they studied in their initial bachelors program?

I hope we find out soon...March maybe? Anyone know?

GOOD LUCK I HOPE WE ALL GET IN!!

You sound like the perfect candidate. I will be surprised if you don't get in. Good luck!

Hello Pihing91,

Your experience sounds very impressive.  Did you apply to any other schools?

My Education background:

My overall GPA is 3.6 and my last 70 units is a 4.0.

My Work Background:

Medical experience 10+

Research experience 3+

Volunteer experience 2+

I'm a nervous about the process but I hope we all get in.

Wow, you have a strong background. I hope we'll get a response soon.

God bless all of us.

Hi!

So my science prereqs are 4.0

My last 60 units- im not sure if the prereqs are included because I took them after undergrad? But in undergrad its like, 3.5, but if prereqs included id guess around 3.8

I've been a CNA at a hospital for almost 3 years

letters of rec from 2 professors and 1 nursing supervisor.

I applied elsewhere and also plan to take the TEAS soon to apply for the community colleges also.

Is there interviews for this program?

Based on comments from the last application cycle, it does not seem like there will be interviews. Not sure, however. I expect we will hear an admissions decision in April, and that will be that.

It will be a long wait until April to hear back from SFSU! I applied to USF's ME-MSN program in September and heard in November that I was waitlisted. Ultimately I did not make the cohort for this Spring, unfortunately. It was my second time applying. I applied to Samuel Merrit's ELMSN-FNP program in early December and await their decision (by March, hopefully).
