Hello, I created this post to see the overall applicant pool applying on Fall 2013 for the academic year 2014-2015. I wanted to open a new thread for those of you who are planning to apply to the BSN prelincensure program to SFSU, to share additional information, support each other, and to see how fierce the competition will be for this upcoming academic year.
For you,
Overall GPA:
Prereq GPA:
TEAS V Score:
Supplemental Criteria:
I haven't finished all of the requirements but when I do I'll update it.
Overall GPA: 3.55
Prereq GPA: 3.44 (still need physio lab and anatomy)
TEAS V Score: N/A (still in progress)
Supplemental Criteria: over 100 hours at SFGH (multi-cultural/health-related work), 3 semesters of Spanish (bilingual), and letter of recommendation (if applicable).
Thank you all and I wish all of you the best of luck, may the odds be ever in your favor!
Has anybody's application changed to "accepted" in the portal yet?
Not yet, but I'm checking every hour or so! I know there's no reason to think there'd be a problem with getting accepted to the university since I've been accepted to other CSU's, but I still won't be able to relax until this is a done deal. I hope we find out soon!
I got into the BSN program at Canada College!! So excited!! Got my email last night:he Sequoia School of Nursing Admission Committee is pleased to inform you that we are recommending the SF State Office of Undergraduate Admissions offer to you for Fall 2014 admission into the BSN program. The recommendation is contingent upon you meeting minimum university admission requirements and being deemed eligible for undergraduate studies by university Office of Undergraduate Admissions staff. Allow at least one week for that final process to occur. To reserve a space in the program, submit a BSN Response Form (attached) directly to the School of Nursing, you may mail or drop off the form to our office located at Cañada College, SF State Nursing, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd, building 18, room 207, Redwood City, CA 94061, attention: Admissions Counselor. Those who reserve a space will be sent a nursing orientation packet in late June.
Please be aware that SF State/Sequoia School of Nursing tuition has increased and students will be paying $400 per unit beginning in the Fall of 2014.
We look forward to seeing you in the fall and hope your experience here will be both enjoyable and educationally rewarding.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann van Dam, RN, PhD, PNP
Director, SF State School of Nursing

Sheri Sassarini, BSN, RN, MA

Yay congrats! I just got that very same email the other day :) Has your status on SFSU portal changed to "admitted" yet? That's still freaking me out a little.
When I got my email from the nursing program, it had my name and ID up at the top, but was addressed to someone else's name ("Dear Namethat'snotmine,"). I freaked out and called every office I could get a hold of to try and figure out if the email was actually meant for me. A few hours later the office emailed me back and confirmed that it was and that I had been accepted...! Talk about a whirlwind of emotion!
For those that got into the general BSN program for Fall 2014 I'm going to make an open facebook group so we can all get to know each other better and to use during the program. I'll title it SFSU fall 2014 BSN. Also I'll be moving up from LA so if anyone needs or knows of someone who needs a roommate/housemate let me know : )
Hey all,
I am a current Level I at SFSU (main campus) pursuing my BSN, and am the Level I, II, and III Representative for the Nursing Student Association. Congratulations to all of you that got accepted into the program! For all of those wait listed, keep the faith! For Fall 2013, they went into the 100's! I just wanted to drop by and answer any questions that you have about the program. The school will be hosting an orientation and NPrep session in early-mid August to answer questions and let you get a feel for the program. Congrats again!

Hi! Wow really!? I'm wait listed number 84 out of 160 and I pretty much was giving up hope! I figured there is no way they can go through 80 students on waitlist if they only accept 80 people for the program, it just doesn't make sense to me.
I am accepted in San Jose's program but I love in Oakland and really don't want to commute ( worst traffic!) or move.
Im still waiting on notifications from CSUEB. It's all so nerve racking!

Thank you! I was curious where the clinicals take place (like which hospitals), and how do you like the program so far? I'm assuming you like it since you're a representative, but I thought I'd ask anyway :)
