Hello, I created this post to see the overall applicant pool applying on Fall 2013 for the academic year 2014-2015. I wanted to open a new thread for those of you who are planning to apply to the BSN prelincensure program to SFSU, to share additional information, support each other, and to see how fierce the competition will be for this upcoming academic year.
For you,
Overall GPA:
Prereq GPA:
TEAS V Score:
Supplemental Criteria:
I haven't finished all of the requirements but when I do I'll update it.
Overall GPA: 3.55
Prereq GPA: 3.44 (still need physio lab and anatomy)
TEAS V Score: N/A (still in progress)
Supplemental Criteria: over 100 hours at SFGH (multi-cultural/health-related work), 3 semesters of Spanish (bilingual), and letter of recommendation (if applicable).
Thank you all and I wish all of you the best of luck, may the odds be ever in your favor!
ATTENTION! I just called the Office of Admissions to see what the deal was with us being accepted into the actual university -- as my application still says "complete" under the portal rather than accepted. She said we have to email them and ask that our application be considered under our alternate major or they will not review it.... Seems really weird considering I was never told anything about this -- was anyone else??

I called yesterday and got a different story... They said, essentially, that they didn't know anything about the process and that I needed to get a hold of the nursing department. The admissions office believed that Spring admission meant that that there were further conditions we'd have to meet during Fall semester. I tried to contact nursing admissions but only got their voicemail.
I called the nursing department several days ago and they said that they didn't know anything about the process and that I would have to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions....GRRRR. I know that for Spring admission we have to be enrolled either part or full time at SFSU and we can take upper division GE requirements for graduation -- but it seems weird to me that we have to email them asking them to consider our application for alternate major....isn't that implied when we apply with an alternate major? Very confusing and frustrating. Let me know if you know anything more! and message me if you want the guy's email who we are supposed to email
I also called the office of undergraduate admissions today and was told the same thing as @hwesterly. The woman I spoke with said the process would not happen automatically, and we have to email their "impacted major coordinator" and request that they consider our alternate major for Fall. I emailed that coordinator (and also the nursing department to ask what the deal was) but haven't heard anything yet. Will keep you guys posted if I do hear something. This makes me nervous too! I just want to know that I'm in for sure.
Also, I have no idea what I selected as my alternate major and don't see that info when I log onto CSU Mentor :/ I hope I picked one... I think we had too, right?

Okay, to check the alternate major, log onto CSUMentor, click on Apply Online, then Undergraduate Online Application. Then select the semester you applied for, which for everyone here, should be Fall 2014. Then, scroll down to "Applications Already Submitted" and click the "View Application Confirmation" button. This should lead you to the confirmation page, where there should be a hyperlink that says "If you wish to print out a copy of the information you submitted in this application for your records only, click here." On that page, under the first heading, "Enrollment Information", there should be your Intended Major, Emphasis/Concentration, and Alternate Major.
And I'll call the Office of Undergrad Admissions right now and explain that we're all hearing different things.
I just got an email back from the impacted majors coordinator. She said I was accepted for Spring 2015 and that they will change it to my alternate major for the fall 2014. If you call the office of undergrad they will tell you what your alternate major was too. Let me know if you guys get a response from her - good luck!
Thanks @plewis873, apparently I chose Spanish :) I also just received an email from undergrad admissions, apologizing for the confusion. She said if I was admitted for Spring 2015 I'll be switched to my alternate major for Fall. The bad news? She says it probably won't be until next week. The waiting continues...

Thanks for writing us! I am in for Spring 2015 - I was wondering what the weekly schedule typically is for the first semester? (i.e. M-F, etc. and what times?)
