El Camino New Grad 2018
Historically they have accepted 1 ADN per cohort but they must be enrolled in a BSN program at the time of the application - this year they hired 3 cohorts, one in October, one in June, and one in September. Keep your eye out on their website, it's an amazing place to work! Good luck :)

I don't know if they'll be hiring onto those same units this time though

El Camino New Grad 2018
I heard they interviewed around 60 for first rounds and 30 made it to panels but I have no idea how accurate those numbers are. The different units are ED, medical, surgical/pediatrics (though it's mostly a surgical floor with only a few peds patients), Med/surg oncology, and med/surg ortho

El Camino New Grad 2018
They hired 8 in my cohort. So far I'm loving it! It's extremely supportive, 10 week preceptorship along with 8 weeks of didactic (1x/week). It's a really great hospital for new grads

So worried....Should i quit RN program due to legal/background issue?
First, I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this stress! I'm a recently licensed (and hired!) RN in California with an old, minor charge on my record, and I know how scary and frustrating the process can be. My advice, having gone through background checks and everything for nursing school, the BRN, and employment, are to HIRE A LAWYER, especially one that specializes in dealing with the BON. Does your school require a background check? Some clinical sites require that you have one and will not allow you to do clinicals there if the background check is not clear, I would definitely contact your school to ask this, so you don't have to drop out of the program halfway through. For now, I definitely wouldn't drop out of the program until you get more information about what it will be like moving forward. As far as getting licensed, the BRN takes everything on a case by case basis. When you apply to take the NCLEX, you have to send in documentation about everything that happened with letters of rec, etc. and the BRN will decide if you can sit for the test. From how you are explaining the situation, if you can provide documentation for all of that being true, I have a really hard time believing that the BRN would deny you taking the test, but I have no way of knowing for sure obviously - the BRN works in mysterious ways! Second, if the lawyer can't get the charges cleared and dropped, I would definitely take steps to get the charge expunged ASAP. In CA, the BRN can't deny you licensure based on an expunged charge. They can, however, issue you a restricted license. If you want to you can PM me and I'm happy to share more information I've learned through this whole process - hang in there and good luck!

UCSD New Grad 2017
Hey congrats on the interview! I had a panel interview with the nurse manager on my floor, as well as 2 staff nurses. My advice is to make portfolios to bring in with resume, cover letter, certs, letter or rec, etc. the questions were all behavioral ... "tell me about a time when". None of them were too out there, but definitely prepare 5-6 stories that you could mold a bit to fit different questions. They were really nice and the interview felt rather relaxed. Good luck!! Let me know how it goes!
