Hello, I created this post to see the overall applicant pool applying on Fall 2013 for the academic year 2014-2015. I wanted to open a new thread for those of you who are planning to apply to the BSN prelincensure program to SFSU, to share additional information, support each other, and to see how fierce the competition will be for this upcoming academic year.
For you,
Overall GPA:
Prereq GPA:
TEAS V Score:
Supplemental Criteria:
I haven't finished all of the requirements but when I do I'll update it.
Overall GPA: 3.55
Prereq GPA: 3.44 (still need physio lab and anatomy)
TEAS V Score: N/A (still in progress)
Supplemental Criteria: over 100 hours at SFGH (multi-cultural/health-related work), 3 semesters of Spanish (bilingual), and letter of recommendation (if applicable).
Thank you all and I wish all of you the best of luck, may the odds be ever in your favor!
Alright, so I emailed her about having to request the admission into the alternate major, as well as my issue about not meeting the alternate major's requirements, and she got back to me almost immediately. This was her reply:
"Thank you, it is very busy and yes that is a rumor. You are being switched automatically and do not need to request the switch. For a non-impacted major you simply need to meet the minimum admission requirements. However, if you want a different major just let me know and I will use that one per your request."
That's the biggest problem I've faced during the entire application process: there's no communication between the departments. I was denied from Cal State LA because I claimed English 101 credit through AP scores, but they didn't have my scores in the Nursing department. They didn't contact the Office of Undergrad admissions to check it.
Thats crazy cause I called undergrad admissions and she told me directly that i needed to email Brandi to tell them to process my application under my alternate major, otherwise it wouldnt be processed. I even asked again, "So I have to request that that be done in order to get into my alternate major? It doesnt happen automatically?" Her answer- "yes, you need to request that your application be processed under your alternate major"...they should really get their information straight seeing as the wrong information could impact us severely in the wrong way.

I just got into USF's MSN program so if SFSU accepts me from the waitlist (I'm #24) I will be declining. :)
