SFSU BSN Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

Hello, I created this post to see the overall applicant pool applying on Fall 2013 for the academic year 2014-2015. I wanted to open a new thread for those of you who are planning to apply to the BSN prelincensure program to SFSU, to share additional information, support each other, and to see how fierce the competition will be for this upcoming academic year.

For you,

Overall GPA:

Prereq GPA:

TEAS V Score:

Supplemental Criteria:

I haven't finished all of the requirements but when I do I'll update it.

Overall GPA: 3.55

Prereq GPA: 3.44 (still need physio lab and anatomy)

TEAS V Score: N/A (still in progress)

Supplemental Criteria: over 100 hours at SFGH (multi-cultural/health-related work), 3 semesters of Spanish (bilingual), and letter of recommendation (if applicable).

Thank you all and I wish all of you the best of luck, may the odds be ever in your favor!

Yeah, all I found out is that we have to take classes at least part-time in the fall. Then we start the BSN program in the spring. Any idea on how I can look up my alternate major on CSU Mentor?

Ok, thanks. And you log in on csumentor, click "apply online", select "Fall 2014/Winter2015/Spring 2015", then your submitted apps should be at the bottom, and you can click "view application confirmation", and it'll say what your alternate major is.

I'm a 2nd bachelors student so I did all my upper div requirements. No idea what I'd do in fall then. Haha

Language classes, something that will help you in nursing like medical terminology (if they offer that), or just classes in things you're interested in?

How did you find this out? By looking at past forums? Just curious since Im in the low 50s. I just want to know I have a chance!!! lol

Yes by looking at the old forums, you definitely have a shot!! If you're waiting on other schools then you still have options, too :) I only applied here and csuci and got rejected from theirs :(

I took medical terminology already, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. :) I'm still just on the waitlist but I'm pretty hopeful still.

So what's considered an upper division gen ed? I feel like an idiot asking, but I just need to know what I should be taking.

Not sure. I'm sure when we go to orientation that will be discussed.

Omg how can this be...I got waitlisted 149 with a 3.97 prereq GPA, 3.95 overall and over 250 hrs of direct patient care experience. Although I have an 83.3% on my TEAS, I didnt expect it to be that low on the list ....

Wow that's insane! Did you apply to other schools? You shouldn't have trouble getting into other programs.

Congratulations!! Wait 3 semesters of Spanish is considered bilingual!!? I took four semesters of Spanish but don't consider myself bilingual in any means so I didn't put this down on my application because it said you had to be fluent.

I'm baffled at what they are looking at for acceptances, as I have higher and or equal stats as many people that were accepted, as well as health and multicultural experience. I really don't understand why I'm wait listed so high at 84. I wish it made more sense :(

Oh well at least I was accepted into SJSU program and still have to hear from CSUEB...

Again congratulations to all!!! Not trying to take the excitement away from any of you, I just don't get what they are looking at

wow that's really weird... Did you not have any multicultural experience ? Maybe that's why... If you do though I would go in and ask them for sure. Cuz you have better gpa's than me and I got in.
