SFSU BSN Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

Hello, I created this post to see the overall applicant pool applying on Fall 2013 for the academic year 2014-2015. I wanted to open a new thread for those of you who are planning to apply to the BSN prelincensure program to SFSU, to share additional information, support each other, and to see how fierce the competition will be for this upcoming academic year.

For you,

Overall GPA:

Prereq GPA:

TEAS V Score:

Supplemental Criteria:

I haven't finished all of the requirements but when I do I'll update it.

Overall GPA: 3.55

Prereq GPA: 3.44 (still need physio lab and anatomy)

TEAS V Score: N/A (still in progress)

Supplemental Criteria: over 100 hours at SFGH (multi-cultural/health-related work), 3 semesters of Spanish (bilingual), and letter of recommendation (if applicable).

Thank you all and I wish all of you the best of luck, may the odds be ever in your favor!

I don't understand how the waitlist goes so high if they only accept 80 people! Like why would they even keep 160 people on it?

I got wait listed number 84 out of 160 :( so I really doubt I have a chance.

My prerequisite GPA is a 7.9

TEAS- 86

Volunteer for a year at children's hospital Oakland with ton of patient interaction

50 plus hours of multi cultural experience with at risk youth and have obtained my CNA license ( requires 100 clinicals in nursing home)

:(

I don't understand why people with very similar stats as me are so much lower on the waitlist. So frustrating!

But a big congratulations to everyone who got in!!!! I got into SJSUs program but really don't want to move :(

which BSN did you apply to?

I applied to prelicensure BSN Kaypadilla

Hi guys, I had the same question regarding intent-to-enroll (I was accepted for Spring 2015). I emailed the nursing department and they said that applicants have to wait another week to be finalized by undergraduate admissions and then the status should change on our portal. Once it changes we have three weeks to accept admission to the university! hope this helps!

Thanks that helps a lot!

just got in for spring 2015!! congratulations to everyone and good luck to everyone on the waitlist :) What GE classes is everyone going to take in Fall 2014?

I'd like to take a language class, since I haven't taken any since high school. I'm not sure if that's a graduation requirement, but it would be good to know anyway. Since we're going to be enrolled in our alternate majors, I wonder if we have to take the classes that are outlined for them. I'm not even sure what my alternate major was, to be honest..

Language class is a great idea! I don't think you have to take classes for the alternate major because in the FAQ it said you take upper div GE's. You can see your alternate major on csu mentor. Mine is communicative disorders.

Wait. I chose English. Why did I choose English?

Thanks that helps a lot!

I can't PM you back do to a lack of posts but I got the same email about transcripts you did.

Did you call them?

Yeah, all I found out is that we have to take classes at least part-time in the fall. Then we start the BSN program in the spring. Any idea on how I can look up my alternate major on CSU Mentor?

I'm a 2nd bachelors student so I did all my upper div requirements. No idea what I'd do in fall then. Haha

i also found that last year went up to at least #52, and the year before went into the 60's :)[/indent]

How did you find this out? By looking at past forums? Just curious since Im in the low 50s. I just want to know I have a chance!!! lol
