Seriously?! Grrrr.

Nurses Recovery

Published

I just need to complain for one second... why do I always get picked to test on my day off?! I have 3 small children, 2 of which I have to get watched now so I can go pee in a cup. The oldest is in pre-school. Ugh, so annoying. Bonus... it's in the teens here in Texas so its freezing balls outside.

Yes, there are places I can go to later this evening but I refuse to pay an additional $20-$30 for a collection fee when I'm already paying $55 to piss.

Sorry, rant over. Have a great day everyone!

Too bad its not a random poop

Then I would have had super cheap Mexican food (extra spicy) and wash it down with a bottle of Mg+ citrate!

HA SUPER!!!

I love your new avatar picture - is that a Davey Do original?

So, here I go sweating a damn dilute. Hit right at the Mark with the first specimen but an inexperienced lab tech said no not enough for split. Later on her boss explain to her that the "B" specimen did not have to be totally full. But, had to start from scratch water, water and a big cup of coffee. Maybe it's a good thing it was not enough. The second specimen she almost put in a bag to be sent off to LabCorp. Luckily her boss caught her and said no this goes to Quest. Ugggggh! Anybody know what happens after the second dilute. Big lab boss said it didn't look dilute to him. Lord!!!

Oh good god!!! This sucks worrying about the concentration of your pee like its some damn planned event. I'm sorry you are sweating the Kel. I'd be doing the same thing no doubt as some dim-bulb would hold this as evidence of anything but proper hydration. My thoughts are with you. Hoping for not bad BS

Ha, and this morning I wake up to back-to-back tests. Today a peth. 2nd this month, with my second option 4 (yesterday). According to my case worker option 4 is the big gun that tests for everything including over the counters. All this for having a dilute on December 28th. Got to love it.

If anyone believes any of this is really random, they need to go back to math class. For the longest while, I could set my calendar by them, every two weeks on Thursday. Really? And what the heck was with the 4 x in one week, along with the $80 ‘special' that everyone got zinged for? That BS was a couple of years ago. Some executive need to pay thier kids tuition or something?

This is all such a crock.

Cream of asparagus soup for breakfast? Throw in some b12 and it'll just positively glow.....

Not totally random, I know that from the horse's mouth. But come on, I'm going on two years in the program without a glitch. Nothing late, same place of employment for a year-and-a-half with promotions. And then one dilute and all hell rains down. Oh well no bladder dance today though. Just 525.00 out of my bank account this month.

People have no idea how much this program costs. I've heard of nurses losing their license because they couldn't afford to comply. Yep "** Pay Me"

I have seen nurses who took one look at the costs (and maybe saw right through the associated fraud) of this and said forget it, I can go back to waiting tables or bar tending or whatnot. A couple I know of did not have the issues that these programs were designed for. One did, but had a bunch of other things going on that in my opinion probably ought not have been working in nursing at that point anyway.

I wonder how many really good nurses have been driven out of the profession by nothing more than the cost associated with this. What is really sad is that if one gives up the nursing license, I do not think you can get any other kind of professional license in that state without cleaning up that mess. This money machine really has its claws in everywhere. There is no longer anything that anyone can tell me to make me believe that this is about anything other than making money off of troubled nurses.

Excuse me now while I depart for the gym to sweat off some disgust......

True that. Expensive months like this I tell myself, "Just be thankful you have a job and can do this, how many people just gave up of couldn't do it." When I saw that lovely pink color of test today on the screen 143.00$ plus 35.00$ at the lab I thought, wow I've paid out basically a mortgage payment this month. Usually, it would be equal the payment for a cheap car.í ½í¹„

Kel,

You are in TX right? They are drawing Peth tests now? I must have missed something. I am so sorry all that is happening. I have had some inexperienced collectors as well. Stresses me out. I don't think they have a clue on what their mistakes may cause for us.

No, I had 2 false positives on the option 1 ethanol . ETG's were negative so they ruled UTI.

My caseworker is letting me do only etg options now and peth per my request because of UTI issues. I just didn't expect to have an option 4 on Wednesday and then a peth on Thursday though. And 2 Peths in a months time.

But that's also probably because I had a dilute at the end of December.
