Hi! Just starting a thread for all students applying to the SSC/UCF BSN concurrent program for Fall 2011. Best of luck to you all!
I don't know if there is a requirement for shoes. (?)Jacksonleo or Nestarden, does the program have a requirement for a specific type of shoe?
Any shoe that is completely white. Make sure that they do not have any logos on them and if they do, that they are very small and very light color...
The FIT testing will be done once you guys get started. The Clinical shirt you can only get from Meridy's (they run very big, I ordered a small but normally wear a medium), the rest of the stuff you can get at Uniformity. The uniforms are very uncomfortable so make sure you get a size larger to give you a little breathing room. I only have one of each (pants, polo, clinical top, jacket) and it has worked so far with no problems so if you are on a budget, do not feel that you have to get more than one of everything.
We just started our second semester and I am already overwhelmed but on the bright side, I got A's in all my classes!!! Woo Hoo! So, do not listen to the people that say it is impossible. Be positive and visualize your A before the test!
Let me know if you have any other questions...
I cannot stress this enough.. Make sure you get super organized before you even start. Get calendars ready to go!!! And start thinking like a nurse...
Thanks, jacksonleo! Congrats on your grade. :)Another question: Did the school offer the BLS for healthcare providers certification course on campus?
I am not sure and if they do, it is not that often. You are better off going to the American Heart Association website, there is a search feature where you put in your zip code and it lists all of the locations. AHA has many, many classes to choose from so I would not wait for the school to schedule one even if they do. Also, it has to be the AHA certification and not the Red Cross.
See ya!!
I am a little confused on the fit testing. I was told that it has to be done as apart of the Immunization tracking paperwork, but now I am hearing that it will be done once classes start. I have already made my appointment for thursday to get it done, should I cancel or what? Please help lol.

The fit testing is done through the school. No need to go on Thursday :).
no problem :) If you look at the Immunization forms on the first page, #7 says "this is usually completed in a scheduled class at Seminole; see school for the schedule for testing".
On the 3rd page of the immunization form it says (fit test) "Once per year, as scheduled at Seminole, you must complete a fit test. Submit documentation of this test when completed through Seminole".
So, it appears that this test will be scheduled for us by the school.
@Coffee, I would call if you haven't received your package yet. There is a lot to do! :)

Hi everyone! Well, I started gathering my info for the health paperwork this week. Had to have some titers done to see what I still need. Also got a Tdap..OUCH...arm is still sore....
lol
Got my drug screen paperwork in the mail yesterday...so I guess I'll go do that early Monday am....then maybe just head over to Uniformity to look at the uniforms. For some reason, I thought I read on all the paperwork we got that the tops had to be ordered from Maridy's (sp?) Maybe it was just the "clinical" uniform???
Is anyone planning to join SNA?
I will be out of the country from May 28th until June 27th so I won't really be able to check in on you guys and see what's happening with everyone...
I'm so excited for August to start, and to meet everyone!!!!!!!
