Hi! Just starting a thread for all students applying to the SSC/UCF BSN concurrent program for Fall 2011. Best of luck to you all!

Hey guys, so I got into the program and I'm sooo excited. However, I do not have the letter in hand since it went to my college apartment rather than my house. Can someone please post the websites that I need to go to take care of the background check and drug screen? I will have the letter soon but I want to get started on some of the stuff. If you can inform me of any other instructions that would be great! Thanks guys. :)

First thing email [email protected] ASAP to let her know that you want your seat. Then, get your hands on that packet. There is a letter of intent form in there for SSC that needs to be filled out and handed in NLT 5/18/11. If not, your seat is gone. Also, you have to go on the site and print off all kinds of health & immunization forms that have to be completed. Also, schedule an appt. for the fingerprinting to be done at SSC, as well as order the background check and drug screen. I will try to include these links for you.

Follow the instructions on website.....but don't sign up for the Immunization Tracking ($25) until July...it's a yearly subscription. The deadline for the background check & drug screen to be COMPLETE is June 1. Paper says to allow 10 days to complete these.

There is more stuff too, but it's complicated to explain on here. I would really suggest that you get your hands on that letter ASAP Jeff. No time to lose. It's a bit overwhelming all the stuff we have to do.

Another question...once we sign up/pay $50 for the background check and drug test we simply go to the Quest Diagnostic center and do the test?? or do we have to wait for a paper?? Sorry I am confused.:confused:

You have to wait for the "chain of custody" form to be mailed to you. They said that it should arrive in 3-5 days from the time that you go online and order it. Then, you take that to Qwest with you.

Has anyone received their financial award letter from UCF or SCC yet? I filed my Fafsa in Feb, but everytime I go to check my financial aid for the upcoming year it keeps saying that I do not have any available.

@zetalove, I rec'd an award letter from ucf, but nothing from ssc. I went to ssc to ask why There was no fin. Aid in my Seminole acct for the 2011-2012 year. They said since I have a bachelors degree, I have too many credit hours to be approved for aid. I needed to submit an appeal along with a grad check from a counselor. I just turned in my paperwork today and it will be about 2 weeks before I hear back.

FYI, you can also go to ssc's facebook page and post your question. They seem to be really good about replying to general questions. I have to thank wannabnurs for pointing this out lol :)

Thanks for your response! I have already emailed Susan Ricci and told her that I wanted to accept my seat. I also asked her to send me another copy of the acceptance packet. I should be getting it in the next couple days. But thank you for explaining everything in detail. Just to clarify, we need to print ALL of the forms from the website??

That's correct, I think there is like 9 of them. Don't forget to go to http://www.seminolestate.edu/nursing, then click on calendar, then choose a date and time for your on-campus fingerprinting. The choices are May 24th or 26th...you will see once you get there. :)

I also see a FIT test. Should I sign up for that too?

It is my understanding that we will have that done in class once our semester starts. I could be wrong, but I think it is to fit us for masks???? Don't hold me to that one though. :)

Hopefully your packet will come soon. You should go ahead and start gathering your immunization records, or plan on having some titer tests done to see what you still need done. I got poked and prodded on today for mine. :( I didn't have my childhood records though.
