  1. I currently circulate in a Level 1 trauma OR but plan to move out to San Francisco in April next year because that’s where my fiancé lives. I have only been in the OR 1.5 yrs so far and have so much anxiety about moving. I have experience in every specialty except CVOR but I do not scrub and I know a lot of hospitals out there expect nurses to scrub and circulate. I want to know what experience people have had out there and what they expect from you as a travel nurse. I do not want opinions about San Francisco or my relationship, please keep it strictly professional. Looking for as much positivity as possible because I have so much anxiety about moving and I am considering staying here another year, which he is not thrilled about.
  2. Yeah seriously...if it wasn't for this website I never would have caught their mistake. Lol. Always do your research and never take no for an answer.
  3. I got accepted for general admission to USF but I am not going to apply to the nursing program now because I got into the UCF/SCC concurrent program from the wait list :) good luck everyone!
  4. Okay, well...nevermind about the shortage then. I shouldn't have said anything.
  5. Oh actually I think I found it, haha. I sent a request to join, my name is Jessica by the way :)
  6. Awesome! I tried to search for it though and I can't find it...
  7. This just made me feel a little better :) I emailed her with my Keirsey test results and a few questions (I was scared of her response!) and she emailed back and was actually very nice!
  8. I have a part time job at an ice cream store, I've been working there for four years and I'm planning on still working 1-2 days a week because I have to in order to pay bills. I have a friend that just finished the BSN program at UCF and I talked to her about working while in the program, she said she worked every semester she was in it and that it's possible if you organize your time right. I might not work for the first few weeks of the program...I'm not sure yet...that email really scared me.
  9. @wannabnurs... The Keirsey test was sent as an attachment, it's 4 pages and it's like a personality test. At the end on the back page you add up how many of each letter you got in a bunch of little boxes and you end up with a 4-letter score that you have to send to her. I guess it's to begin our "cohort development" skills. Lol.
  10. What happens if you fail a class? Can you retake it or do they kick you out of the program?
  11. That email was crazy...I thought it was a little mean honestly. YES, we all know it's going to be hard. But don't try to scare us out of doing a limited access program when there is a nursing shortage to begin with. As for the forms...we turn all those into the school in person, right? We just have to email her those 4 letters from the Keirsey test? Also, for the loan agreement, she said for the "projected term of completion", to put fall 2012, but isn't it fall 2013? Also...I just got an email from UCF saying it's not too late to register for fall and to register now to avoid a $100 fee. Are we supposed to sign up for our nursing classes there now? Or do we wait till they tell us to? Thanks!
  12. Thanks! I'm excited to hear about the purple stethoscope, that's my favorite color and I was hoping I would be able to get one :)
  13. Thanks, that does help...I've also heard the clinical top runs big? I'm really skinny and usually wear an XS, but they have an XXS available as well...which size would be better? Also, there's other supplies listed on the Meridy's website besides the uniforms, like scissors and goggles and stuff, do we have to get those too?
  14. I'm confused a little about the uniforms...I'm going to go to Uniformity tomorrow to try everything on and get what I can, but on the Meridy's website after entering the school ID, are we supposed to buy everything that it lists? Or just the uniform?
  15. Thanks everyone!! I was at work when they called but luckily I wasn't doing anything so I could answer. I was jumping up and down and my manager was like "wait till you get off the phone to jump up and down!" haha. They sent my acceptance packet this morning! So now I will be running around trying to catch up. I'm sooo excited!!!
