Has anyone applied for the Spring 2010 term? If so have u heard back?
Shalli - Haha, the margarita was gooood! Thanks for asking!
Ms. B Well - Yes, my recalculated GPA was a 3.6, and I finished all my pre-reqs in Spring 2009. I don't know how much they look at NET scores, but I scored an 88 on it. This was my first time applying to the program.
Highvoltagegrrl - If you take a class and get a C or higher, then you take it again, it counts as an illegal repeat. You have to get a D or F to legally repeat a course. I believe once you have an A.A. degree, any class taken a second time is also an illegal repeat.
To those of you that didn't get in, what about going for Respiratory Therapy, or LPN, and then do the transition to RN program? Definitely keep trying, don't give up!
Thanks MellBell - I had gotten a C in that Psych class back in the day. Blah! Well I am still in Category 1, so I'm just hoping for the August term. I applied to the Resp. Therapy program last time I didn't get in and got in to that program, but turned it down after thinking about it. Will have to think about (again) it for next time. Who are you taking for Chemistry now?
i took chemistry this past summer with professor ***. i thought she was good, i enjoyed her class.i'm taking statistics with *****right now, and i really like the class. i've heard great things about *****, too.
how cool. i took professor *** during the summer too! i took it everyday () except fridays and managed to get an "a." so you got into the concurrent without finishing stats?

interesting stuff! my recalculated is a 3.7 but i finished my final pre-req (a&p ii) in summer 2009 and took stats alongside (w/prof.**********). maybe taking a&p ii during the summer spoiled my chances. well, congrats and good luck mell bell! i wish i could've been there next spring with ya.

yes, i am "provisionally accepted", so i have to get a c or better in stats or else i give up my seat. i wish everyone on here could have been accepted, it would've been fun to meet you all!
Congrats to everyone that got in!!! Everyone else- don't give up!! BTW, professor ****** for chem is THE BEST!! Explains everything so thoroughly-stays after to further clarify. Love him!!! Also, ******* for A & P I or II is awesome!!! Microbiology is definitely *****. Just my two cents. I got all A's in the sciences and I took them all together. Good luck for next semester!!

Hi everyone! I applied for 2009 fall transition program. I got on the waiting list/will call list and was never called. My gpa is low, 2.53, I have all my classes done. What can I do to help bring up my gpa without taking illegal repeat classes? I did very well in LPN school and took a lot of the classes before I decided to be a nurse, so I just tried to get by with a c in some of them. Thanks for all your advice.

MsBWell - sorry to hear you didn't get in this time. It's a struggle.
WAGGS - ******* **** is supposed to be a great chemistry instructor. I'm taking her next term. From other students I've heard she takes the time to be sure the students understand what's going on. She has some of the better reviews on ratemyprofessors.com for Chem teachers at SCC.
I didn't know you could retake the pre-req classes for a better GPA for this program. Man, I should have done that with the Psych class I took, many, many, many years ago before I was serious with school. Unfortunately taking a class in Spring I don't think it will be over in time for the next applications. There is a notice on the nursing program handout that says "illegal repeat courses can not be used in the recalculated GPA". What is an illegal repeat course?
