Applications for the Seattle Children's nurse residency open up on May 3 and the OR residency application opens sometime in April. I have been working towards the OR residency, but I am applying to both because I am dead set on moving to Seattle and Seattle Children's is my #1 choice.
I have loved watching people on here talk throughout the application process, get hired, and start making their moves! I would love to connect with people who are applying to either the OR or the regular residency at Seattle Childrens and other Seattle area programs!

That's awesome! Hopefully, starting today they'll invite external applicants. I'm also coming from across the country and hoping that doesn't ruin my chances.
I live in Florida so I hope that doesn’t hurt my chances. I have all of my stuff ready for a Washington license but still people get weird I feel when you have to move for a job. How many spots are there for this residency cohort?
No idea! I know it’s super competitive because they cancelled all the residencies last year. My assumption would be that you have a better shot if you’re going for acute care as they hire more there. I applied for critical care which is a bit more competitive, in my experience.

I put NICU, medical as second and float team as last choice but I said I would take anything as well LOL.

I also applied to Harborview but did not get an invitation to interview there. I did get an interview for their UW Northwest campus for the trauma OR.
