Scripps Healthcare New Grad Residency Program 2011, has anyone received a interview invitation?
Any news anyone? I got an email from the person who interviewed me (non unit manager) and it stated that HR are the ones who will make the final hiring decision. So those of you who interviewed with someone other than a unit manager I am assuming they gave their recommendations to Toni and her team to make the final choice. Ughhhhh I wish I would just know a yes or no! I don't know about you guys but I have been a stress ball.
Christina- did you happen to interview with oncology 7w La Jolla?
I just called HR and there is a new voicemail message directed at New Grads. They are still working on the process and do not anticipate finalizing things until early next week. So it looks like we are going to continue playing the waiting game. At least now we know that there may not be phone calls this week.

It's not just you, Christina. I wrote a thankyou to my unit manager and simply addressed it to her, 4E, Scripps Memorial etc etc etc and I *hope* it got to her! I emailed Toni to ask if I used the right address but she didn't reply. So HR *may* know about the card, but not sure if they'll see it.
It was personal because that's my style. I used to be a scientific illustrator; I drew a little cartoon of "Sarah, a happy 4E contributor" showing the things that appealed to me about the unit (ongoing education, Mentor). If there's any way I can stand out as an individual, I try to show it. I just hope my happy little drawing (and honest, well thought-out note) isn't lost in a Scripps postal black hole. I'd like to think that individual touches can put us over the top. But not if the right people don't see them
I also keep rehashing the interview over and over. I think it went very well. It was my first, so I know I didn't give the best possible answers to all questions; but I was honest and told the manager that I was nervous and very appreciative for her not making me feel like I could be eaten alive
I like to think that interviews are mainly to assess whether we'll be a good personality fit for the unit, so being honest and transparent is more important than giving "all the right answers".
Everyone: keep your bodies and minds busy. A watched phone never rings....
And, as bittersweet as it may be, keep filling out apps.
No matter what, "Keep moving to the right" as my orchestra conductor used to say - as in, to the right on the music page. Go wherever you want on the political spectrum
