Hi guys! Just wanted to start a post for the cohort for August/October 2023. Just curious if anyone would know the answer to this but it says on their FAQs PDF that there is only positions in units like med/surge or telemetry however during the application, there were choices like medical acute and surgical acute. Does anyone know if those units are hiring or not? And if we could apply to multiple units?

Sounds like they're trying to focus on one floor/unit/hospital at a time since candidates meet with the nurse manager staff of that unit. I don't remember applying to a specific unit ?♀️
Do you have the email or phone number of the recruiter? I would like to get ahold of them and ask about my application as I applied on the very last day and I feel like they might not have even looked at mine yet. Thanks!

I'm curious about that too - I applied like 2 hours into the first day and haven't heard back yet. So I'm not sure it's a time thing that's factoring into their methods. OR they think I'm a bad candidate haha

Have you received that "referred to hiring manager" email? Like you are just waiting to hear if you will get an interview?

Not the users you're replying to but I got the "referred to hiring manager" email (two of them, one specified Mercy SD - all units) but haven't received word about an interview ? makes me wonder if the hiring managers are also filtering the apps and don't just contact everyone they were given. Starting to get discouraged tbh ?

Don't get discouraged! I'm in the same boat. I feel like not hearing back is better than a rejection email. We still have hope ? honestly I'm assuming they have so many apps to go through and it's dependent on the individual unit.
We have friends in our cohort who work for Scripps and have not heard yet; and they already work there and one on the unit he currently works as aPCA. He hasn't heard and I don't think any rejections have gone out afaik.
out of professional courtesy, I'm not going to put the recruiters name and number but do a little research on LinkedIn and you'll find her (or the one I found and answered my LinkedIn mail message)

Ugh thank you. This whole process got me stressinnnn ?
Don't get distressed. It sounds like the interviews are panel interviews (not just one person) so I can guarantee it's been very difficult to get all of their schedules coordinated and then find times that work for candidates too. And with Memorial Day weekend just around the corner it is about to get busier for them.
also- don't forget that some people may be applying for Scripps because it's open right now. SHARP and UCSD don't open until next month, and I know that some people prefer those to Scripps (and some prefer Scripps to them). If they get a spot in Scripps that's their second or their third choice, then there will be openings at Scripps.
don't forget about the VA, Kaiser, Tri-city and Palomar (who is paying VERY well).
And Palomar opens in 5 days

The recruiter informed me that at Mercy they like to do interviews as a group, so leaders of all of the big units will be there. Scary!
