Scripps Health New Grad Residency August/October 2023

Hi guys! Just wanted to start a post for the cohort for August/October 2023. Just curious if anyone would know the answer to this but it says on their FAQs PDF that there is only positions in units like med/surge or telemetry however during the application, there were choices like medical acute and surgical acute. Does anyone know if those units are hiring or not? And if we could apply to multiple units?

IDK for sure but I assumed that the options during the application were the actual units that have openings!

Did anyone that applied already get an email to do an on-demand virtual interview?

I got one when I submitted my application!

I also got the email for on demand interview as soon as I submitted my application.

Hey guys! Did you submit any other additional documents? I'm still waiting for my letter of rec but may need to submit the application without one

Good luck everyone! Does anyone know how fast we can start the specialty transition programs (ICU, OR, etc) after we complete the residency portion?

I was wondering the same thing. It just says that we can include resume, cover letter, references, etc. but doesn't say which are required or preferred. I would assume that we should submit a resume and cover letter at minimum, but not sure if any other documents are super important. Anyone have any knowledge on this from past cohorts or anything? Thanks!

How does the on-demand interview work if you don't mind me asking? Do you think HR does a quick initial review and sends it to all who meet minimum qualifications? Can you see the questions beforehand and record as many times as you want? Thanks so much

Hi!

The on-demand interview is 8 questions and are all behavioral questions (tell us about a time you disagreed with a coworker, why do you want to work at Scripps?, etc.). The questions aren't given in advance but you can take as much time as you need to prepare. Each answer can be up to 2 minutes and you get unlimited re-records. You can't jump around between questions so you can't go back once you move on. Mine had a lot of technical error messages, so it took more time (and messed up with my nerves a bit, but it all worked out)..

I got the request for the on demand interview immediately after submitting my application. it did not look like anybody from the hospital took a look at it and then sent me the request. it seemed like, as long as the answers you provide while applying meet certain criteria, then automatically you get the on demand interview request.

You'll do great!

Can someone explain the difference among observation vs. medical acute vs. trauma med/surge units

Thank you so much for this information! This was so helpful. I just need to be strategic about when I submit my application so that I know I have time other the following 72 hours to do the on-demand interview. Thanks again!!

I just submitted my application and got the link to the on-demand interview immediately. It says there are 8 questions, but they only release 1 question at a time and you can't go back. Does anyone have the list of questions asked?
