Scott & White Internship -- June 2011

Published

Hi!

Just wanted to start a thread for the S&W applicants for June 2011. Let's all keep each other posted and encouraged as we go through this nervewracking process!

If you could state where you are from and what your 3 choices were, that would be great. I'll go first!:lol2:

I'm from NJ and my top 3 choices (in order of preference) are: ICU, STC-2 (Adult Observation) and ER.

Good luck to all of us!:yeah:

Sure, briefly. You all meet together in a room and talk about how the interview will go. Then be split off and you interview with everyone else individually. Good luck!

Congrats to those who have received offers for the ICU internship!!! Excited to be seeing new faces on the unit. :) I started the internship several months back in January.

Cooli11 - Turtle Creek is great for the price! I'm looking into moving there myself. Have you looked into Legacy Landing (sister apt to Turtle Creek)? It's new! 1-bdrms start at $630.

Lovelymo - You'll SHINE on Friday! ;) Hope to see you then!

Hmmmm- my application status for the ICU now says routed.... is this a bad thing?

Specializes in CTICU/CVICU.

Not sure. My application has said routed for months - since I first sent it in in February. Maybe call to check on the status of it. No news isn't bad news :)

@PICUNewGrad, I have also accepted a PICU there!! Awesome . I tried to send you a private message, but I dont think you can recieve them yet

Hello all!

I was selected for the OR internship! I am really excited. My wife and I are going to be new to the Temple area and are looking into those neighborhoods off of West Adams. I hope its a good area! I cant wait to get started and meet some new people.

Congrats!! Ill be in the OR too. Looking forward to meeting you.

Can anyone give me some pointers on the internship? I went two weeks ago and looked at SW. Talked to a recruiter. Kenzie, very nice. I'm not sure if I'm spelling her name right. I don't graduate until December, and the internship apps arent due until the last Friday, but just looking for any tips. How stellar are your stats, for those who got accepted. Congrats. If I get accepted I will be Moving to Round Rock, yes that is a 45 mile commute, but I don't mind. Good luck to all of you.

Im just your run of the mill nursing student. Grades werent spectacular. They seem to place alot of emphasis on your answers to the questions you have to write up, as well as the feel they get for you in the interview.

Specializes in CTICU/CVICU.

I got the ICU position!!!!!!!! I am BEYOND excited!! The director called me before I got back to the hotel!! I don't even graduate until after the internship starts but they said they'll work it out with me..they just wanted me here!!! Whoo-hoo!!

So, while I'm down here, going to look at some apartments today. Any suggestions? :D

Hey redraider. I also interviewed for the OR internship and was wondering how long after your interview, did you get the call? Thanks!
