  7. twnurse_2010 - I spoke to a nurse recruiter for Children's via email back on March 1st and she told me they were hoping to finalize the number of positions offered " in the next few weeks or so" And the wait continues.........:icon_roll
  8. Parkland is taking 10 for the ER
  9. I am from here in Texas and my top 3 are PICU, Pediatrics, and NICU! Good Luck! Are you already down here in Texas?
  10. Not trying to discourage you, but I graduated in May, got my license in June, and had started applying in Feb and I didnt hear back from ANYONE and I mean I applyed everywhere and just heard back last week. I stared applying again in Oct as well, so dont lose hope!! It just will take time.
  11. First thing, I love living in Texas. I am from here so I am a little biased and one thing to learn about Texans is we love us some Texas! It is extremly hot and depending on where in Texas, can be quite humid. Winters are milder in some areas, and more like a "winter" in others, for instance in the panhandle, it usually will always snow, I am from DFW area, and we will usually get ice and if lucky some snow will stick. Cost of living is pretty good, from what I hear in comparision to other parts of the country. Job market is hard, like most states. Like I mentioned before, depends on the area you will be in on how the jobs are. Texas is a pretty big state, so maybe someone from Ft. Hood area will answer your questions. I have heard very good things about Scott and White, but know nothing about the other hospital you mentioned. Good luck and I hope you like Texas, when are you moving?
  12. I think it went okay. Yeah Idk about the number, the way the recruiter was talking was like they did change the number of residents they were gonna take. The unit manager actually told me they used to take like 20 residents.
  13. I interviewed today for the L&D residency and she said today was the last day for interviews and they would make their decision in the next week or two, I also want to say she said they are taking 8, but dont quote me on that one, she said originally it was four, but then they upped it.
  14. Good luck on the Children's interview! Which dept are you interviewing for? I have a couple of friends who work there and love it!
  15. You may want to repost to the Texas Board, you may have better luck there!
