Scott & White Internship -- June 2011

Hi!

Just wanted to start a thread for the S&W applicants for June 2011. Let's all keep each other posted and encouraged as we go through this nervewracking process!

If you could state where you are from and what your 3 choices were, that would be great. I'll go first!:lol2:

I'm from NJ and my top 3 choices (in order of preference) are: ICU, STC-2 (Adult Observation) and ER.

Has anyone checked out the apartments? I went around today after the interview and picked up some brochures from about 6 or 7 places. Some places definitely leave more to desire..some are ok..and others were really nice. Only thing is a lot of places wouldn't have any 1brs available in June..ugh.

So, I'm hoping my friend who interviewed for the OR position gets it so that we can be roomies. There were some really nice 2br/2bath places.

I don't think I'm going to be able to afford to come back down next month so I'll be securing an apartment on the internet:eek:

Mainly Temple but I looked at two in Belton - Turtle Creek and Legacy Landing. They were very nice. Legacy Landing is new but they won't really have anything available in June.

Lovelymo mentioned something about the apts not having 1 br... I might visit the area next week. When I lived in Waco, I used http://www.bearcribs.com for apartment search and roomies (around Baylor Uni) but I am unsure if UMTB studs have something like this in Temple/Belton.

I got the ICU position!!!!!!!! I am BEYOND excited!! The director called me before I got back to the hotel!! I don't even graduate until after the internship starts but they said they'll work it out with me..they just wanted me here!!! Whoo-hoo!!

So, while I'm down here, going to look at some apartments today. Any suggestions? :D
