Just wanted to start a thread for the S&W applicants for June 2011. Let's all keep each other posted and encouraged as we go through this nervewracking process!

If you could state where you are from and what your 3 choices were, that would be great. I'll go first!:lol2:

I'm from NJ and my top 3 choices (in order of preference) are: ICU, STC-2 (Adult Observation) and ER.

Congrats, MaroonTX!!! I would do the big congrats picture..but I'm responding to this from my phone...lol. But, I'm truly happy for you!! And I'm glad the departments are not waiting to tell ppl..even though I'm going on the last day. No need for you guys to wait until then!

I'm going to be in the PICU internship starting June 6th. I was wondering what the other people that have accepted offers are planning to do for housing and what they know about the area? I have been researching apartments in the area and one of the recruiters sent me a list of places they prefer but that only tells me so much. Does anyone have input on apartments in the area?? Thankss :)

Im in the same situation, know nothing about the area. Looks like alot of the apartments in Temple are old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went to Temple today and found a duplex that I signed a lease on. I didn't check out the apartments because I have dogs and wanted a backyard, but from what I can tell prices are pretty reasonable (I'm paying $779/mo for a 3 bed, 2 full bath duplex with a yard). There are definitely some areas of town that are kind of sketchy, but also really nice areas (i'm lucky bc my boyfriend is from the area so he could tell me immediately what places to avoid based on address). If anyone has any specific questions regarding an area they are interested in, let me know and I would be glad to try my best to help. Another tip one of the realty companies gave me is that right now the selection is a little slim, but starting soon many rental properties will open up bc the interns/residents @ S&W leases will be up and they will be moving on.

I got a position in the ICU too, they called me right after my interview a couple weeks ago. I'm going to Temple on Thursday to look @ places.

MaroonTX - can you tell me anything about these apartments? Echo station, a girl from my class already has an apartment there. Marland Place - Chappell apartments referred me to them since their prices were too high for me, and Turtle Creek Village. I'm looking to pay 650ish if I can, willing to go as high as 700. I'd like to be close to S&W but i'll go to Belton if I have to save money. Looking for One bedrooms :)

WoW..it's good they are letting people know so soon..!ut I hope they've saved some positions for us that are interviewing on the last day! Lol!
