I graduated on May 12th and it's been a LONG wait for the state to finally issue authorization to test with Pearson. July 7th at 8 AM is the big day.
Our nursing program gave each graduating nurse a scholarship "gift" of the Kaplan 4-day NCLEX prep. I've been doing practice Q-Bank questions nearly every day. So far, I'm doing pretty well on the trainers & Q-Banks. I simply cannot wait to get this over & done with. I have a job lined up and I cannot start until I pass the NCLEX, per their policy.
Anyone else taking their exam next week?
Hey Soprano!
I feel your anxiety! I had my exam yesterday at 2 pm. I had no math, to-o-o-o-o-ns of SATA ( between 20 and 25), some medications with no clue what they are, no alternative kind of questions.
My exam shut off at 75. I am right at 50/50 about passing. I do not feel good or bad, I am just in plain unknown
Are you just going to wait for quick results? Or will you try to call 900 number, or do that PVT trick?
:-SS
For now all of us who are testing today, we are entering the "nailbiting" period of our lives!
As I previously said to Soprano, I am not sure if I passed or failed, but I am glad that waiting for exam is over. The morning of exam I felt empty-headed. I had I fear that I will not be able to remember anything!
I did not study the whole day before exam, and I feel that it was okay to do that. I would probably be mixing all the info, as the rationale for not studying the day before is to let info to soak in, and get organized by the brain, or let's call it get settled.
First 25 questions I felt as if my eyes were reading the info, and sending it to a completely empty brain. The answer were coming out from nowhere, as if I had no control, of why my brain was picking out this or that question as a correct option. I guess this is my twist on nervousness!
Cant wait to hear how all of us (this week's test takers) feel. Please, keep the thread alive!
Omg !!! I'm sure u passed! And good luck to everyone else testing . I take mine on Friday .
I am sure you will do great! All these years of nursing school, days of reading, hours of memorizing! The odds of you failing are only 15% or so, as statistically 85% of first time test takers pass, and 50% of second time test takers pass.
This was your first try, right?

I'm going to wait for Quick Results. There's no way I'm going to try PVT because I don't want to risk getting charged. I don't feel right about putting in bogus CC info just to get around the "system". I'm just going to have to stick out the wait for Quick Results. Some of my classmates had their license # posted on the BON website before Quick Results were even available. Others had to wait over a week for the license # to appear. I'm hoping I'll get lucky and see my license number before the 48 hours is up
If you shut off at 75, you have probably passed :) Isn't the waiting hard???? The suspense is killing me!!!!
Leaving to go take my test... eep! It's not until 2PM, but I have to travel out of state to go take it (there were no open spots at nearby test centers). Weirdly, I'm not as anxious as I thought I would be? Or maybe I'm just ready to get it over with. I think that I will feel more anxious after the test, depending on how it goes and the fact that I'll probably be asked about a bunch of things that I have never heard of.
Still holding good thoughts for you, Zee & Soprano! Also looking forward to others checking in that are testing today! :)

It is hard! I have been in the unknown for 19 hours, and oh, boy, time drags!
BTW, suspense IS my favorite kind of movie genre, but NOT when it comes to my own life! Hahaha. I will be waiting for my quick results too. There is no way I will be able to see results before 48 hours on BON website. It takes up to 6 weeks for them to post that info here!

Safe travels, Willow!!!! I, too, felt surprisingly calm before the exam. I had trouble sleeping last night, but this morning, I really felt like everything was gonna be OK. I have studied my butt off for this and I feel like the Kaplan course prepared me well for the exam.
Sending positive thoughts your way as you take the exam this afternoon. Good luck!!!!

Yeah, time flew so fast during the exam and now it's SLOWLY ticking by now that we're done. Why is that? LOL
Considering the BON lost my application and it took over a month just to get my ATT, I'm not holding my breath that I'll get my license # before 48 hours. The majority of my classmates had to wait a week for the license #. I'll feel fine once I know the Quick Results.
In the mean time, we'll just have to keep telling ourselves that ending the test with 75/77 questions is usually a very good thing Maybe I should go rent a stack of movies to watch to pass the time?
