I'm so glad I stumbled upon this thread because now I too am going to apply. I already applied to CCSF, Merritt College (Oakland), and Ohlone (Fremont). Most of the schools I applied are in the Bay Area but I'm actually from the 209. I took most of my classes at MJC, but the Fast Track program that BrookNursing mentioned really caught my eye. That would be awesome to get into and finish early. Please BrookNursing keep us updated on what your friends think of the instructors and the curriculum. I would love to know more about Delta's nursing program.
Also would love to know where they do clinicals.
Hey you were in my chem class and sent me a final study guide you made ? small world in the health sciences field!

Does anyone have information about the advance placement for LVNs? I heard that there are never really many spaces available, because of how limited the HS 43 class is. A bit discouraging ?.
So this is kind of frustrating as I checked every semester for an entire year about HS 43 and it was never offered that entire year. So I took MJC’s class, nurse 259, which is essentially the same thing, but Delta said they won’t accept it, they only accept their HS 43 but they haven’t offered it so I guess if you’re an LVN you get the points for having your nursing license and working 1000 hours or more, but you don’t start the program later or have a smaller pool of just advanced placements like MJC does.

Hi Lexie! Do you mind if I PM you more about MJC? :) And yes, I heard from the nursing counselor that HS 43 isn't offered UNLESS there is space for you in the third term (she also said it is rare for a LVN to RN spot to open up because not many people drop out?). I am still hopeful though! I wish you the best of the luck!

That’s interesting, Do they wait until after you apply before they put you in that course or just hope you have enough points to still get in? It used to be similar to MJC in that it was a course so you could start the program later, but oh well. I had no idea though, so thank you! Also, yes absolutely send me a message!
Hi guys,
This app is a bit different, are we just uploading the courses that are pre-requisite coursework? For example, if I am using my advanced composition english class grade, do I still need to upload the first English class I took even though I’m not using at on my application towards points?

I believe the answer is yes. I remember seeing this question appear on the Frequently asked questions page on the Delta website. It says on there on the last page that if it’s a prerequisite and you took it twice, you put the first passing grade. I am meeting with a nursing counselor tomorrow and I will ask this question because I need to know too- if we’ve taken Multiple English classes, do we list all of them?

Hi Sergio! I will update on instructors. As for the clinicals, Deltas program does them at all of these hospitals: San Joaquin General Hospital (French Camp) Dameron Hospital (Stockton), St. Joseph’s Hospital (Stockton), Doctors hospital (Manteca), or Lodi Memorial (Lodi).
hope this helps!
