  1. I'm sorry I'm confused, if a manager told you she'd hire you, that's completely out of her hands as it's union and has to go through internal job postings first, then external IF no internal applicant applies and accepts it. On top of that, it goes by seniority which also has an order of "who's first" to it. I've been with kaiser for almost 6 years as an on-call LVN, got my RN last December, and still am trying to transfer to an RN position. I don't think it's really a thing to be an external applicant and just get handed a position. Unless of course it's a non-union position and then I don't think posting it to the internal board matters, then again I'd be surprised if not. some of these comments are people thinking they should've been handed a job they wanted, when really there are people (some with decades of service) at Kaiser who may want (and deserve) that very position. I know this is old, just had to comment for anyone who ends up here via Google like me and is reading this and may think it's something that happens often, it doesn't and you'd have a ton of union grievances if an external applicant got a job over someone currently with Kaiser.
  2. Mine just this evening updated to todays date as well, still with the "completed status". It makes you wonder ?
  3. That's true! Never know what may happen ?
  4. Were you also WC? I never heard anything ? so I'm planning on just starting the new grad program I went with prior starting on the 27th ?
  5. Mine has said this since I submitted the snapshot on 2/13 and still says that/hasn't been updated.
  6. Hello, some of them say "specialty unit staff RN- labor and delivery" or "Staff Nurse II - specialty training - operating room (or specific department)” if you search "specialty training" in the job search once they go external, you will see them all for multiple locations. I saw ones for Bay Area, modesto, and some so cal. ? it is quite a lot especially for L&D Oakland!
  7. I haven't seen anyone say they got emails for wc yet so like someone else mentioned I wonder if it's based on the location and whomever is in charge of selecting the candidates for interviews, which explains the differences in times and days the emails are going out. I'm trying to remain positive, but in the meantime I've been applying to jobs internally for transfer. I also saw on the internal job boards lots of specialty department positions (38 emails in one day) stating they will train for that department and no experience is required. It still says 6 months acute, but not department-specific/specialty experience. After the internal posting period, they'll be on the external site. So for those interested in L&D, ICU, and OR, be on the lookout for those postings! It's worth a try at least!
  8. Yeah I checked my submissions on my profile and the status just says "completed" and it's not a clickable link like the usual submission statuses. It also hasn't been updated since the 13th when I submitted my snapshot. I'm not sure if anyone else's looks like that or not.
  9. I also have not heard anything since the snapshot. I applied to Walnut Creek since that's the service area I currently work in. I emailed the address on the residency website prior to the application because I wasn't sure if I should do this program or just try to transfer internally from my current position, so I had asked if they utilize any seniority or preference to internal applicants. They did reply saying they do prioritize current employees, but I haven't received anything. I believe everything happens for a reason so I am not going to get my hopes up or let myself stress too much ?
  10. I selected east bay and Walnut Creek, as it's one of the hospitals in my current service area of KP where I work. But hopefully eventually can transfer bc it's quite far - I live in the Central Valley. ?
  11. Yes, I am an internal KP employee. I received mine today. My classmate who is external has not received hers yet. So that may be a possibility but think as someone mentioned everyone will receive one ?
  12. Hello, I received my email at 11:30 this morning. My fellow classmate from nursing school still hasn't received hers yet. Is anyone in here an internal applicant as well?
  13. I received it to my personal email, surprisingly. I would definitely check both though just in case! Best of luck
  14. Hi guys! I was number 15 on the waitlist but declined my spot because I got in at MJC as an LVN so will be starting in second semester so it’s less time than at delta! If anyone felt discouraged by the alternate list, I am sure they will be sending more acceptances out soon!
