Is it me or is hiring at Kaiser Permanente a joke?
I'm sorry I'm confused, if a manager told you she'd hire you, that's completely out of her hands as it's union and has to go through internal job postings first, then external IF no internal applicant applies and accepts it. On top of that, it goes by seniority which also has an order of "who's first" to it. I've been with kaiser for almost 6 years as an on-call LVN, got my RN last December, and still am trying to transfer to an RN position. I don't think it's really a thing to be an external applicant and just get handed a position. Unless of course it's a non-union position and then I don't think posting it to the internal board matters, then again I'd be surprised if not. some of these comments are people thinking they should've been handed a job they wanted, when really there are people (some with decades of service) at Kaiser who may want (and deserve) that very position. I know this is old, just had to comment for anyone who ends up here via Google like me and is reading this and may think it's something that happens often, it doesn't and you'd have a ton of union grievances if an external applicant got a job over someone currently with Kaiser.

Kaiser NorCal New Grad Residency 2023 (Spring Cohort 5)
Hello, some of them say "specialty unit staff RN- labor and delivery" or "Staff Nurse II - specialty training - operating room (or specific department)” if you search "specialty training" in the job search once they go external, you will see them all for multiple locations. I saw ones for Bay Area, modesto, and some so cal. ? it is quite a lot especially for L&D Oakland!

I haven't seen anyone say they got emails for wc yet so like someone else mentioned I wonder if it's based on the location and whomever is in charge of selecting the candidates for interviews, which explains the differences in times and days the emails are going out. I'm trying to remain positive, but in the meantime I've been applying to jobs internally for transfer. I also saw on the internal job boards lots of specialty department positions (38 emails in one day) stating they will train for that department and no experience is required. It still says 6 months acute, but not department-specific/specialty experience. After the internal posting period, they'll be on the external site. So for those interested in L&D, ICU, and OR, be on the lookout for those postings! It's worth a try at least!

Kaiser NorCal New Grad Residency 2023 (Spring Cohort 5)
I also have not heard anything since the snapshot. I applied to Walnut Creek since that's the service area I currently work in. I emailed the address on the residency website prior to the application because I wasn't sure if I should do this program or just try to transfer internally from my current position, so I had asked if they utilize any seniority or preference to internal applicants. They did reply saying they do prioritize current employees, but I haven't received anything. I believe everything happens for a reason so I am not going to get my hopes up or let myself stress too much ?

San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2021 Applicants
Hi guys! I was number 15 on the waitlist but declined my spot because I got in at MJC as an LVN so will be starting in second semester so it’s less time than at delta! If anyone felt discouraged by the alternate list, I am sure they will be sending more acceptances out soon!

Also, I'm not sure if this has been asked, but I just went online to order my MJC transcript, and because of covid they're only doing it electronic. Does anyone know if SJDC is accepting this as it's the only option?

awesome, thank you so much! So, is everyone who meets minimum requirements invited? I guess I'm wondering that, and did you just compile the docs and transcripts, etc. into a pile then neatly insert it into a large envelope? I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for this, so I don't want to mess it up LOL

MJC allnurses 2021
I asked this same question the week I applied. The PFF compiled doc is not able to re-access by the applicant. I think I’m going to email MJC nursing just to notify them in case it’s not accurately saving applicants’ documents. Being this is the first year they are using the uploading system, I think we should bring it to their attention, especially if they intended for us to view the uploaded docs just as you’re able to view your submitted application. I’ll update you guys if I hear anything back. Lexie

I don’t think they’ll be too picky on this given the circumstances. I was worried about them having my official results because they don’t send a confirmation email once it’s received by ATI, so ----------------------- emailed me back that she has it on file from CSU Stanislaus which is who I took it through, even though it was removed. So now I’m worried, should I have put remote proctoring? I know its the little details we worry about ?

I second this. Although, I was able to claim points at MJC for a class with 0.00 units because I had taken it right out of high school, forgotten about it, didn’t have it transferred to MJC when I went back to college, so retook it and later had old transcripts sent and it says “illegal repeat” on my MJC transcripts, but MJC nursing took the higher grade with 0.00 units. It’s a weird situation but it does happen. However, I have no idea what delta will say. I also need to reach out to delta, again, for something that came up. I’ve take a “TEAS” exam a total of three times. Once was back in 2014 for my LVN program, which did not include sciences. Then again in 2016 for University of Phoenix which was the older version, the TEAS V, and so it did not count towards this latest version, titled “The TEAS test”, which is a newer version than the TEAS V, and so technically I only took the latest version once. However, upon looking at my report of my score it says attempt 3 out of 3. I only took that version once and there’s no way the first time with zero sciences would count as an attempt at Delta or MJC. It just shows that because it was through ATI and technically a version of the TEAS. So I added on the delta application that it was my 1st attempt and I’m worried if they request docs from me they’ll say, you took it 3 times? I need to follow up on that because without context it looks like a discrepancy ?
