San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

I remember--vaguely--them saying like Melissa said, that lab would run from those different hours depending on when your fundamentals class was. I agree that it does suck when they won't tell us what they are. Guess we'll find out soon enough, unfortunately.

An FYI, the assessment blackboard class is up. So far there doesn't appear to be anything in there like in the foundations/fundamentals class.

I called the school earlier today to see if I registered for another class if I would be charged another processing fee and they said no. So I registered to take tech writing on the internet and they were going to charge that 130.00 fee again. I will go to the school tomorrow because that is ridiculous.

Wow, that is ridiculous. Though at least now we know that they won't charge that fee again. I think I'll be registered tomorrow. I think : )

Oops I meant general service fee. So check before you register for another class if you have already paid, especially when they give our clinical assignments. Just a fyi.

They were going to charge me another 130.00 but I dropped the class after I saw that on my SOS page. We already paid the 130.00 why would we pay again, that makes no sense what so ever. I'm not paying 200.00 for one class when three only costs 500.00. Thats really stupid.

Hey guys i just joined to this website. Im so thankful to have heard of this. I have been hearing that we should be reading chapters 1-4 already, but I do not remember which book it was. Maybe fundamentals of nursing? Does anyone know anything about this?

i want to know how you guys found out that chapters 1-4 were supposed to be read in the first place??

its not on blackboard, and the teachers didn't say anything about it during

orientation...

maybe y'all already answered that, but i forgot :)

wow soo many posts today =D... so much to catch up on... well ... I don't even know what book to read. I have a stack of like 15 books and I'm scared of having bought the wrong ones since some of the books were on the syllabus lists and some were only on the announcement list. Does anyone know which ones we should follow? Oh and what book should I be getting a head start on.

Lots of Love

Specializes in Oncall Hospice RN.

When we were in the hall waiting to be fitted for scrubs, a 2nd yr nursing student suggested that we read the 1st 4 chps of Health Assess since we'll have a test on those the 2nd week (day) of class. And for Foundations, I'm following the course calendar since it makes it clear what chs will be on the test.

HTH

Meliss---- How did you fix the $900 tuition thing? I called and all they told me was to turn in an application for credit classes, which I did. Nothing about a refund yet. I hope the app doesn't take long.

I would read both Fundamentals and Health Assessment Ch's 1-4. It definitely wouldn't hurt.

As Melissa already said, it was a friendly suggestion given to us by one of the students. One that we were all very eager to do : D

The list that was put up on Blackboard was correct minus I think 2 things. There's a handbook for the assessment book, and then the I-clicker. There should be 12 total. I'll try to help you as best as I can.
