So don't bother trying to sign up for clinicals since all the classes are closed until we are assigned an instructor.
Pharm, have you called the nursing office to explain your dilemma to them? I don't understand why they can't assign us an instructor eventhough we don't have a hospital assignment yet.

Correct. If you try to sign up it'll tell you that the class is closed (any of them really) because as of right now, all the clinicals are listed as 0 spots out of 0 spots.
I will be verifying on Monday whether or not they'll charge two service fees because it's not really fair to us. We don't get a say in when we sign up for our clinicals (heck, it was pretty nerve wracking just sitting here waiting for the regular class schedules), so why should we be penalized for what's out of our control?
Aaaaanyway. Nobody can sign up for clinicals yet. Unless you're in the LVN program : p But I won't go there.

ok Russell, you recommend me read chapters 1-4 out of the health assessment book right? or was it the fundamentals....
i like your input on things, sorry :)
Uh, whatever the class is on Monday. I think it's assessment, but I keep getting them confused. So if assessment is the class on Monday, then yeah, it'll be that book.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong nursing buddies. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go relax after almost mauling somebody in my truck.

Well I was also getting worried on the reading... What I am doing is reading 4 chapters out of the health assessment and 4 out of fundamentals :)
I don't think this is going to be nearly as bad as everybody's making it out to be. Not to continuously make comparisons to the other programs I've been in, but this is typical of the first couple of chapters.
I think everybody's trying to scare us for some reason. That's not to say that it's completely without merit (I'm looking at you warily Pharm), but I'm gonna' be blunt. These classes are nothin'. Though I think they mentioned that during orientation.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't beat yourself up trying to memorize the book. Get the essentials (hello nursing process. I think those 2 words are repeated ad nauseum in every book we have to buy) and then go from there.
It's Health Assessment that we have a test on the 2nd Mon of class. Foundations (aka Fundamentals) has provided a course calendar so we'll know when the tests, math for meds and skills check-offs will be assessed.
Supposedly. The only proof we have of the assessment test is all hearsay. I'll believe it when I see the schedule for that class.
We didn't have to buy a study guide for Foundations, correct? I noticed on the course calendar where we have to turn in a medical terminology workbook for ch 1 in 2 weeks. I guess we could start working on Ch 1-7 in Math for Meds.
Yeah, I don't know about the workbook thing. I was trying to figure that out the other day.
Geeze Melissa, you'll have finished the classes before you even step inside the classroom : p
Well I haven't written any note cards for Unit 1 which happens to consist of 8 chs. Plus I need to time to read the chs befor class which is a novel concept for me.
Haha, it's all good. Study what works for you. I think I'm gonna' relax and enjoy my last week of freedom. Besides, I already read the first four chapters of the foundations/fundamentals and the assessment stuff, so I think I'll be okay.
