Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Oops. The article said that the AMA is considering the banning of lab coats for drs. There's a topic listed on the side of this message board that says "Labs coats the next to go" and the link for the article is posted in that message.

I don't think we'll have to sit for 8 hrs since some of that time will be used to take our pics for the ID and maybe fit us for our scrubs. I pray we don't have to sit for 8 hrs. I'm 42 and I still have trouble sitting that long. I could never have had an office job.

Yeah Melissa, I actually remember reading about that a while back. It said that Dr.'s were being told to essentially lose the coats because they ended up infecting people (in small numbers, but they're being infected so it's bad anyway). I'm not quite sure why we'd need one. If you watch nurses at the hospitals, they have developed ways to carry all the crap we're buying.

It's amazing : D

we have to wear all white leather shoes to clinical. at school, we've been wearing any kind of tennis shoes, close toed.

You have destroyed my psyche and morale all at the same time.

I'm going to go cry into a bowl of chili and ice cream. Together.

In just 24 hours a lot of questions will be answered. FINALLY! If I had the summer to do over again I would have taken the Phamacology class that was offered. Atleast I would have had something to keep my brain occupied! I will see y'all there even though I don't know who most of you are!

I don't know. I've heard from multiple people who've taken the Pharm class (and even the Nursing people themselves) that it's better if you take that class where it is. They've all said that it makes more sense in the context of that semester, because you're actually going to be using that information.

If you take it now, you're going to need to pull it from memory, and I know for me, that's a disaster waiting to happen.

I can't wait for tomorrow either though. If, for nothing else, to see my A&P 2 friends and meet all the people on here. Speaking of, we should all at least give a general idea of who we are, that way it's a tad bit easier of finding each other tomorrow.

I'm easy. I'll be one of the few guys : D I also wear a red hat, which makes things even easier. I'm a kidnapping waiting to happen apparently.

does anyone know about how much money we'll need to bring tomorrow?

I calculated 372 dollars. So I'd say bring 400 just to be safe.

That consisted of the school uniforms, clinical uniforms, and the lab supply kit with the littman se.

I'm bringing a credit card.

Russell, did you turn in a copy of your A&P II grade to prove completion of your pre-req?

I'm doing the same.

Hmm, they never asked me for it. I asked them when I first turned in my paperwork, and they never said anything.

i'm bringing my parent's debit/credit card, but i'm not sure if they'll take it. should they?

or does it have to be mine?

You'll be fine. Even though I have my own, I use my parents cards all the time.
