San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

No way I'm printing that. At least, not unless they pay me in paper and ink to do it. Ridiculous amount of pages there.

Kinkos priced all four syllubi with card stock cover, double sided pages and comb bound at a lil less than 50 dollars....or I can print just the pages for a lil less than $100.

I'm sure I did something wrong reaching that amount, this was online though.

I probably wouldn't be so against this idea had I not just dropped 600 dollars on Friday. Combine that with the fact that I'm going to let go of another 400 in books and then registering for classes.

I have a laptop, and that is where the syllabuses are staying.

I spent $700 Friday and then another $400 on the rest of the booklist last night. I wonder how much tuition is. At least I can justify this kind of spending. No fun shopping for me for awhile.

Tuition for me will probably be around 1200. I'm out of district though.

I'll probably get the other books after I register. I haven't had fun shopping for a long time, so no loss there : p

Ok so I just started looking for my books and the costs, but I am getting a little confused... Do we need 12 books total for this semester? It just that we need some books are used for three classes and it's messing me up

I just purchased the books required for Foundations and Health Assessment. I figure those should get me through the 1st 8 weeks of school. I also bought the newest addition of each so I hope I didn't make a mistake since it says 2006 for Mosby's manual of diagnostic and laboratory tests.

I don't know if I can clarify because I don't quite understand it myself, but I THINK that we'll need all 12 this semester. Whether that means they're used like regular text books or supplements is up for debate, but they did say we'll be using most, if not all, in the upcoming semesters as well.

It's a huge investment no doubt. And if you're really concerned, I'd say e-mail one of the nursing people and see what they tell you just to make sure. I myself am just going to buy the rest, even if we don't use them all this semester. They'll be used eventually.

Hope that helps a little.

You should be fine with the newest versions. I don't think they've updated the syllabus for a few semesters : D

If anyone has bought all of the books yet, if you don't mind could you tell me what I'm lookin at spending. I can't use financial aid until we register and can't do that until they give us our schedules.

Thank you for helping... I think I am going to go ahead and buy all twelve books and get it over with... Like you all said we are going to need them eventually

oh and i made the calculations and for all twelve books it's going to be around $700 to $800 depending on where you get them and if they are used or new books
