San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

We will be doing 2 per week. Plus going to the hospital the day before clinicals to prepare our reports.

Specializes in Oncall Hospice RN.

So I guess we'll have time in our schedule for the additional visit to the hospital to prepare for our clinicals that week. I didn't know we had to drive 3 days per week to the hospital. Who told you this Russell?

...and...what do you mean by "preparing our reports"?

It means we'll be going to the hospitals to pick out patients the day before and getting our care plans ready. This will be discussed at orientation undoubtedly.

And Melissa, we'll be doing it every week I think for the 8 weeks.

Specializes in Oncall Hospice RN.

I thought we had clinicals throughout the program.

I'm talking first semester. It's the second 8 weeks for the first semester. I think, if I remember what someone had told me, it then changes for the rest of the semesters.

For instance, we'll do med/surg for 8 weeks, then switch to a different clinical for the next 8 weeks. I could be way off the mark, but that's what I was told.

question. do we turn in a COPY of our cpr card .. or do we keep a copy for OURSELVES? and turn in the original?

You turn in a copy of your card. You keep the original.

Make sure you do both front and back if you haven't already.

ok and do y'all know if we're supposed to bring anything with us to orientation? besides a debit/credit card...haha.

Well, I was planning on bringing my bag and a notebook. Definitely not sure if it's going to be needed or not. I'm planning on just giving us an overview of the program and what it's going to take.

So, I don't think you'll be wrong if you decide to bring nothing, or if you bring a notebook. Orientations are usually just a way to get everybody to get to know each other and get out some things about what we'll be doing in the nursing program.

So, in an uncomplicated answer, most likely nothing : )

are we supposed to sign on the CPR card where it says holder's signature? cuz i didn't. lol

Yeah. You may want to because it shows that it's actually your card and not someone else's.
