San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

At orientation we were told that they could send us anywhere from Baytown to Sugarland to the Katy area. I would rather drive a longer distance to learn at a more reputable hospital.

I agree. Going to Ben Taub was a blessing for me as a surg tech. Yeah, it'd be nice to work close to home, but that's not going to benefit any of us at all.

Keep an open mind!

anywhere from cornerstone, clear lake regional, memorial hermann, ben taub, methodist, san jacinto methodist in baytown, TIRR, VA, med center, etc.

basically, anywhere!

soooo, do you just drive to the hospitals and meet up with your teacher? or how does that work.. ha

i really hope the teachers go over ALL of this at orientation..most of you know somewhat what your talking about..i have no idea. so new to this.. is anyone like me? ha

There should be clinical instructors. And yeah, they should go over this and a whole lot more at orientation, so don't freak out about all this information. They're not going to tell you to do something without explaining it first.

I turned everything in a couple of hours ago. Now I can sit back and wait for orientation. I cannot wait to begin. I know I will regretting those words once it does.

I received the e-mail about lunch on Friday and Saturday. I am unsure why they would be serving lunch on Saturday if orientation ends at noon.

You won't regret it because you'll be excited that you're finally able to start your journey towards becoming a nurse. Lots of people got denied that opportunity. It's exciting!

That is strange though. Maybe they're feeling charitable...?

you have to pay for it $6.00 each day. did you get the e-mail?

Shana, I remember being told at orientation that we are responsible for getting to the hospitals where we will meet with the instructors. We were also told that if we miss 2 clinical sessions, we would be dismissed from the program. So I guess we show up to clinicals even if we have the flu?

ha ha. wowwww. i guess so!

how many clinicals will we be doing during a week though??

i just hope that i learn a lot of things before starting a clinical ... :(

i'm nervous. :uhoh3:
