San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

iclickers is like...the instructor has a question up and everyone clicks their own answers then a graph will show how many people picked A, B, C, or D. we barely used it last semester and we dont even use it this summer. even though they demand us to have it, they should put it to some more use!

I took the CPR class yesterday. There were 13 students and 10 of them will be starting with us at SJC. The guy who teaches is kind of funny so it did pass by quickly. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the floor. Also, we were done by 3:30 pm.

What was the CPR class like? I'm going july 25th. Kind of nervous. And curious... 3:30..! better than 5 ha ha.

Haha, don't be too worried about the CPR stuff. They will pass you come hell or high water. Just be prepared to use your arms and upper body A LOT. Real CPR isn't nearly as taxing though, which I found funny : D

On a side note, I turned in all of my stuff sans two titers because they thought I might contract the chicken pox again. The threat of turning into a chicken is too large to ignore I guess. . . : p

I got the titer for Hep B but not for chicken pox.. They said i didn't need a titer for that.. i don't know why??

And so all we have to turn in to the health department is:

1)acceptance letter

2)transcript

3)physical/history form/shot record

am i missing anything?

The CPR card can be turned in later, right?

I wanna get this stuff done already! ha ha

Were you ever vaccinated for chickenpox? I don't know why they would tell you not to get a titer but tell me to...that's a bit odd haha.

That sounds about right. Once you get your CPR card, just make a copy of the front and back and turn it in and you should be ready to rock and roll.

yeah, i've been vacinnated. that's the MMR right? and i'm looking at the physical that she sent us thru email and underneath MMR it says "2 doses required separated by at least 30 days OR titer also required".... so i guess it's an either/or situation.. but mine were like way back in 96! hah

oh! nevermind i take that back. they did give me a titer for chickenpox. and next to it they wrote positive results! WHAT!! i don't have the chicken pox!! i think they wrote it wrong ha ha. they never told me anything was wrong. they said i was good to go!...

Haha, I don't think you have chickenpox. Unless you've got tons of little dots on your body. That's kind of a funny mistake though : D

As long as the nursing people say you're fine, you're fine. That's all that really counts at this point.

Maybe by "positive", they meant you tested positive for the mmr antibodies. I have positives all over my physical, but they are all followed up with "tested 'positive' for ...antibodies".

10 MORE DAYS EVERYBODY! YEAH!!!!!! Oops, is my excitement showing. LOL

That sounds about right momof3. I was a bit confused because I don't think my doctor wrote anything like that on mine. Learn something new everyday : )

I want to be excited about orientation, but it sounds like it's going to be one of those days where we all wish we were somewhere else. Plus, I should be on vacation those 2 days, so I'm a bit upset about having to stay here to get "fitted" for scrubs. I'd much rather be with my family enjoying my summer. Sigh.

And then after orientation, we get a 3 week break...Yeah!!!!!! I just bought a 3 mo old Boston Terrier puppy so I'm not so anxious for classes to start now.
