Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?
Lets talk about it here
OH MANNNNNN! I'm glad y'all said that. I thought that using my webcam, and printing a photo would be ok, but I see what you're talking about where it says no printer photos. Blah! Maybe they're afraid people will use photoshop to alter the image, who knows.
Chelken- u better hush up. You're stuck with hangin out with me. LOL!
Nescobedo- Thanks for helping us out with all that. Are you in your 2nd or 3rd semester? What are the hours? (M-F, 7:30-?, or something else?) That has been my million dollar question that I keep asking everyone. I know these guys would love for me to find my answer just so I'll hush up about it. I'm dying to know how much time I'm going to have for homework and studying before my kiddos get home from daycares. Hope you can help.
My goodness! When is the las time i posted???
I guess ive been too busy with A&P2,but its all over tomorrow!!!!!!!! Yay.
Ive had big problems with my Physical. The doctor didnt order some of the blood tests so... I went back today, got stuck 6 times and left without a single vial of blood to show for it. And i get to do it all over again tomorrow. Oh Joy!!! Anyway...lol. I really enjoyed reading everything you all have been saying. I love the way we all have the same concerns. I cant wait to meet you all:) Im guessing i will be the youngest in the group...
I am in the third semester this summer.
About the hours. Your first 8 week quarter you will be in class Monday through Friday. Depending on which day you half Health Assessment it will be either 8 am to 11 am or 12 pm to 3 pm. The rest of the week you have Fundamentals from 8 am to 11 am. Second 8 weeks you still have Health Assessment, Skills theory for two days 8-12 (I think it was extended an hour) then two 6 hour clinical days. The first semester keeps you busy and basically prepares you for the rest of the program. Once you get to the higher levels you get a couple days off during the week=more study time for you. The program moves from simplex to complex so you will need it as you progress.
About the picture. You can upload any digital image of just yourself and then print it out at any Walgreens or CVS for like 19 cents. The picture is for your file in the nursing office.
Thanks for all that info. Man talk about being way off! But this is one of those times where I'm glad I was over the top in my assumptions. I totally thought I would be going all day, till like 4:30pm, then trying to come home, take care of kids, and do homework/study. This is actually a HUGE RELIEF to my game plan.
Thanks for the tip about downloading photos to Walgreens, etc. I will do that with my webcam photo.
Those shots are a pain huh? I felt like a pin cushion when it was all said and done. And you're right...you don't even get any souvenirs to take with you. LOL! Unless you count a bloody bandaid. Ewwww! Sorry that was gross. Hang in there, it will all be worth it!
I know I am a little late with the information about the Hepatitis B series, but I the secretary just called me today... She said it was ok if you had it done a while back as long as the titer was cleared... Again sorry but I just got a chance to get on the computer it might not be any help now lol
Now I thought Micro was the easiest of all the science classes, but I bet the degree of difficulty is based on the instructor. My micor instructor was the best because she gave us a detailed review for each exam so there were no surprises. This A&PII was tough for me because we had to cram in so much info in so little time. But hopefully our brains will be in good shape for the nursing program.
Now to get organized for August...
Can't wait to meet everyone from this group
Maybe so. I had Professor McReynold's. Honestly, I think I just struggle when it comes to tests. I follow so great through all of my classes, and really soak up all the info. When I'm at home, I can talk and repeat so much stuff that I've learned, but then when it comes to testing I just have a hard time. McReynold's test seemed the hardest out of all my teachers, but I'm sure there are others who loved his style.
I loved the Lab part of A&PII. So interesting to see each organ & muscle inside a living (well non-living) thing.
