San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

Oh sure, absolutely. That will be an exact confirmation. That's what I've had to keep in mind no matter who all I I get info from, is that the program could always change, and we may not end up with the same set up as those before us.

Well I figure if I make a 90 on the test tomorrow, 90 on the lab Wed, then I can make a 50 on the final and stilll get an A in the class. I did the extra credit to relieve some of my anxiety of having to complete 5 essay questions and questions on new material that hopefully he'll begin to cover tomorrow.

Don't forget your notebook since he's not providing any notes.

Wow, I don't think I can get away with what I did in A&P 1 (namely not care at all about the final : D ). I'm just looking at needing A's at this point. Do I need an A in this class? Nope. Do I want one? You bet your life I do.

No notes? Oh boy, I'm glad you said something. I was trying to figure out why there weren't any powerpoints up. Question answered.

Hi everyone..I just joined this allnurses.com thing?? i hope i'm doing this right..but i got in the program!! yay. so i will be seeing all of you at orientation, yes?? andd.

Hey there! Congratulations! Yup, you'll be seeing the majority of us troublemakers at orientation : p

1) I don't believe there is a dress code. Nothing in the e-mail has stated that there will be, so I wouldn't worry at all. I'm not going to dress up.

2) As long as you have all 3 shots done, you should be okay. I don't think they expire (I'm not a professional either), but if you feel anxious about it, just ask your doctor. They'll be able to tell you definitively.

3) Yes. You can take all kinds of classes for the humanities/fine arts class. I took a music class and it was fun. As for the PE, this may be slightly harder, as the nursing schedule is going to dictate when you can take other classes. I would suggest doing it this fall, as this will be our easiest semester by far.

Hope this helps! Don't be afraid to ask questions, there's tons of awesome people that will help you out here!

do i need to let the nursing admistrator or whatever know that i'm taking a pe and humanities class in the fall? or are there many other people doing so?

i wonder if i'll be able to do both..

and thanks for all your help! really appreciate it. :)

Nah, you don't have to let the nursing people know. I believe there are many people who will probably be doing something similar to what you're doing.

I'm glad I could help though!

theres no specific dress code for the orientation. just dress casually, nothing too hoochie or whatever. lol

btw, im in the program in the 3rd medsurg/critical care semester right now this summer.

good luck to all of you guys, enjoy your break right now bcus youll miss it when school starts! lol

Hey guys i've been on allnurses for a little while and LOVE this site although i've never posted anything. I'm planning on applying for fall 2010 for any school i can get into. Thanks for everyone for all their advice on the application process. I know how expensive all the books can be(work at the Top Shelf Textbooks) just wanna let everyone know that they are cheaper across the street from sanjac and we do have the same stuff for cheaper. I know this is a shameless plug but i'm serious you don't have to pay ridiculous prices, but nursing textbooks are expensive in general. Good luck to everyone that was accepted and i look forward to hopefully being in your shoes next year!!:yeah:

I am getting really nervous about school :uhoh21: I just keep thinking about the stress... I am trying to prepare myself lol Hope I am not the only one...

Oh about the Hep. B series shot I had the same question and I went to the secretery of the nursing office to ask, but she was not able to help me. She told me she would call me as soon as she knew, but I still have not heard from her. As soon as I get a response I will write it down. But if anyone finds out sooner can ya please let me know? I would appreciate it :D

Dang, guess I won't wear the, ahem, "rear-less chaps" that I had planned to. What a downer :o

Does anyone know if we have to buy ALL those lab packs listed on the form she emailed us? The transition lab supply, basic lab supply kits, lap supply kits w/littman lightweight, and lab supply kits with littman classic?

Also, how many nursing uniforms are we buying? and what are the different kinds? i'm just not understanding fully what she typed up on this sheet...ha ha. thanks if anyone can help!!
